I got 99 problems but clogging ain’t one.

At least for the type of Yerba I usually drink. No problem whatsoever with Padrón Uruguayo.

Borionaggio mil furos.

Started to dispise yerba from argentina after knowing uruguayan style

Im from Argentina, and when I tried Uruguayan Standard Yerba (Canarias, Waldo, Barão, Rei Verde, etc) , I felt in love with it and cannot drink any other styles (argentine, brazilian, etc). These taste like grass!

You come as a guest, choose one to drink.

Just got a new delivery, some I tried and need to refill my tins, some are new. Can't wait to try them! Any recommendations for tomorrow?

Pico Lumilagro vs Mate System

Pd: no me pagaron 😂

Bombilla use or complain

I just got myself very first bombilla (it was discontinued btw) and later on noticed a crack in a joint between mouthpiece and pipe. Filter itself is good and overall works fine just leaks a bit. Question is would it deteriorate later or not. Would you complain or use it as is?

Mold or just patina? Green/grey discoloration inside my natural gourd — can't scrape it off

I've had this natural gourd (calabash) for a while and noticed green-grey discoloration building up on the inside walls — not on the bottom. Trying to figure out if this is mold or just normal buildup/patina from the mate, and I'd really appreciate a second opinion from people with more experience.

Some details that might help:

  • The discoloration is green-grey and patchy. To me it does NOT look fuzzy — I think the texture is just the rough, fibrous surface of the gourd wall that happened to discolor, but I'd like others to judge from the photos.
  • It smells like tobacco/mate/wood — not musty, moldy, or damp-earthy.
  • I can't scrape or scratch it off. It seems to sit in the material rather than on top of it.
  • There are a few small dark specks, but I think those are just leftover mate residue I didn't rinse out well enough.
  • It's a natural gourd, not palo santo, glass, or steel.

The smell and the fact that I can't scrape anything off make me lean toward this being patina rather than mold, but I'm not confident enough to keep drinking from it without a second opinion.

Photos attached (including a sharp close-up). Would love to hear whether this looks like mold I should toss the gourd over, or if it's just patina I can keep drinking from. Thanks!

What is your "Desert Island" Yerba?

Alright folks,

You're stuck on an island for the rest of your days. Or, if it's less depressing, at least the next several years. You can have an unlimited supply of one yerba.

Lately for me it's Baldo. It's got a lot of power behind it and as much as I love smoked yerbas, this one continues to really satisfy the mate cravings.

What are you drinking?

Good morning!

Some Canarias to get the day going right before work
Had a great weekend, got a brand new snake who is settling in like a champ. And I have a date tonight with a very nice lady. Life is good, the mate is good, hope you all are good. Much love ❤️

am i using the right bombilla?

hey everyone, so i started drinking uruguayan cut yerba mate, but for some reason I get noticeably more dust than with argentine cut yerbas on my first 3-4 rounds, and it’s a lot harder to sip on than argentine yerbas, am I using the right bombilla? or is it supposed to be like this?

Who also thinks Brazilian chimarrao is crap?

I want to know how you all feel about it.

The things I hate about it:

-it's acid

-they don't respect harvest time

-poor quality

-it's a powder.
