Details:
We purchased this yurt from Secret Creek (Colorado Yurt Company). We picked it up in Montrose, CO. We built the foundation and floor system and all the furniture in our shop. Then in April, loaded everything into our trailer and transported it to the Deseret Land and Livestock Ranch outside Evanston, WY. We are currently using the yurt as a bedroom while we are working at the Ranch. We will be here until the first week of August when the yurt will be taken down and ready for transport to you. The floor system is all put together with screws and bolts so it will come apart easily without damage to any of the parts. The entire structure is designed to be re-set up with zero waste, and everything except the longer floor joists, fit inside a 10’ enclosed trailer. We have many photos and full drawings and step by step instructions for assembly if the new owner wants to set it up themselves.
Full Specifications:
- Special order 14’ diameter from Secret Creek (Colorado Yurt Company order #004026 9/25. First outdoor setup May 1, 2026.
- Foundation and floor system: 4x6 fir beams with lap joints, 1 ½ x 2 ¾ floor joists 16in oc (stained/sealed & lag bolted to beams), 7/16 OSB sub floor, 1 ½” F
- foam board floor insulation, ¾ T&G Advantech finish floor (with 3 coats Poly Urethane), 3/16” x 10” plywood Bender Board (stained/sealed).
- 34” x 67” Solid wood door (left swing) with glass window and frame. Keyed entry lock.
- Standard lattice, 68” to tallest point.
- Standard 3/8” plastic-coated stainless-steel cable with rubber cable ties.
- Standard clear 3’ ring with 33 ea (7 more over standard), 1 ½” x 3 ½” rafters, secured with Coor brackets.
- Standard roof and wall insulation package with white vapor barrier liner.
- 6’ standard vinyl-laminated polyester (rust color) wall with 2 standard windows and 1 over-the-counter vinyl window with zip down covers, bug screen and insulating cover.
- The roof is a heat welded one-piece premium Duralast (15 year warranty) with rain diverter over the door area.
- The dome is a clear plexiglas with all the opener hardware for venting.
- The interior additions, which will come with the yurt, include carpet over the entire floor and a larger throw rug, door mat and rubber boot tray, all three windows and the door window have curtains. Also included are the perimeter string lights and various electrical cords and surge protectors.
Furniture:
For furniture, and to keep personal items organized, we are including the custom made coat hook shelf, two writing desks (with pine tops and Advantech uprights, stained and coated with urethane), two wooden chairs, a sink shelving unit (we have it set up to drain greywater outside) with a 20” x 24” glass mirror, two book (or clothing) solid pine shelf units, and a double (full) size bed 54 x 75 (mattress and base with open storage underneath.
Price Calculations – $15,250
A new 14 foot yurt from Pacific Yurts cost $12,970.00, an equivalent 14’ yurt from Secret Creek would be $12,440.00. These prices are for the yurt alone and do not include the floor system or shipping. We have close to $2,000.00 in materials for the base and floor systems. With all the interior furnishings we feel $15,250.00 is a very reasonable price. We are asking for a 1000.00 down payment with balance due upon takedown.
Takedown, Packaging, Transportation, and Setup Costs
We are prepared to take down, package, transport, and set up this yurt at your location. The projected cost estimates include $750.00 to take down and package safely in our (or your trailer). $1.00/mile to deliver it (from Wahsatch, Utah – leaving on or about August 8^(th)). $1,500.00 to set it up on your site (does not include leveling your site or other foundation preparation).
