"You can’t add this mobile number because it would exceed the number of times you can add and delete the same mobile number."

I'm trying to add a mobile number in my Zelle settings. I had issues getting the confirm text message, so have had to add/remove it a few times. I'm now getting this error:

"You can’t add this mobile number because it would exceed the number of times you can add and delete the same mobile number."

I've contacted my bank multiple times over weeks, and they don't know how to reset the counter. How does this issue get fixed?

Fraud investigation

So a while ago, I received around $300 from a random person. I was advised by people in my family and a representative from my bank to not send it back because it could be a scam and they could be trying to collect and then possibly get a refund to double their earnings. I also was afraid to expose any of my information by doing so. 2-3 weeks later, I get a call from them and a text threatening me to give them the money or they’ll go to the police.

I was still advised to ignore, block the number and wait for my bank to handle it if anything. I also didn’t want to risk them getting my information or my money because I don’t know who they are at all.

Today, I get a call and it goes to voicemail, it was apparently a detective from a police department asking for a call back. I’m not sure what to do in this situation now, is it possible for them to even go directly to a police department instead of just talking it with their bank?

Would appreciate some guidance, I’m going to try calling the bank again and seeing what they can do.

Zelle Didnt Let Me Send $200 today

I use Zelle often, but only with same people I know. For some reason, when I tried to send someone $200 this morning, I got an alert saying "It appears you are being scammed, payment rejected". When I tried a second time, got an alert saying you already attempted to send these funds. Then, I tried sending same person $10 just to see what would happen and it went through no problem. The Zelle limit for my bank is $1000, therefore why would it stop me from sending $200? I've sent larger payments many many times in the past to same friend with no issues.

Zelle not available in your country or region pop up

I live in the US and always have, all of my device settings seem to be on for the US. I have even downloaded Zelle about 2 years ago but since it wasn’t supported with my bank I deleted it. Today someone somehow sent me money through Zelle, and when I went to redownload the app, it did not show up in the App Store and instead a prompt saying (app not available in region or country) popped up. Anyone know what to do or how to fix this?

Does Zelle (Chase) allows verifying identity via foreign passport

So I’m not American and don't have a US State ID. I tried making a Zelle transfer to a new contact, and it triggered a verification check. I passed the SMS verification, but then the Chase app asked for a State ID. When I tried scanning my passport instead, the app wouldn't even detect it, and now my transfer is stuck. Does Chase/Zelle actually accept passports for identity verification, or am I out of luck? This sucks as I really need to do this and I'm outside of the U.S. for a while.

[US] Zelle scammer. Someone sent money to me and is looking to get it back.

I received money unexpectedly to my Zelle account.
I wasn’t sure if I was getting it from a legitimate source so I did nothing.
Maybe a week or more later the “sender” of the money contacted me. Said they accidentally sent the money. It seemed real, they showed me a screenshot of the transaction. Told me what the money was for. But something didn’t seem right to me.
I called my bank.
That’s what you should do if you “accidentally “ get money.
The bank told me that sometimes they do this and try to get the money back from you. If you send them back the money. Now they have their money back. Then they turn around and file a fraud claim on you. You might lose the money they sent you PLUS the fraud claim if they get it through.

NEVER DEAL WITH THE PERSON WHO SAYS THEY SENT YOU THE MONEY. CALL THE BANK DIRECTLY.
They will handle it so that you don’t get any fraud claim on your account.

I’m so glad I called the bank. As a good person it seems reasonable to send the money back. But don’t do it! Have the bank handle the entire transaction.

Will Zelle notify me if a transfer to me has been cancelled?

For some reason Zelle had unenrolled me and I did not notice till after a pretty big sale. The person zelled me a good deal of money and I got a notification to enroll. When I did enroll, I got a bunch of transfers from older zelle transfers but not this one. Now, they do seem to have sent to me, sending me a photo of their bank statement. But im worried that they might have canceled it when I was unenrolled... would I be notified if they did cancel the transfer?

Im really hoping its just a security hold because I was briefly unenrolled and this would be my first transfer from them. We'll see i guess. Its only been a bit, so I'll need to see after a few days.

Suspended from Zelle

Last Sunday I got a transaction from someone I don’t know. I didn’t even noticed since I was traveling a lot and didn’t check my messages. When I tried using my Zelle yesterday I realized it was blocked for security reasons. I called my bank today and they said that person reported me as a scammer. Is there anything I can do about it? I told them I could give the money back but I don’t know how since I don’t know that person or have any information just their name that is showing on the message. I don’t know why this could have happened probably he got the wrong number? And decided to report me? I didn’t get any call from the sender either.

Zelle gets worse every day

Zelle has turned into an utter crap fest. The mighty AI declares that making a 2nd transaction in one day as "fraud." CapitolOne cannot clear the hold since Zelle is "separate" and the Zelle contact Us page leads to a list of FAQs which tell you to talk to the bank. This is the future: AI makes the decision, cannot be questioned or overridden and you may or may not have access to your money at any given time. Zelle has become a business devoid of humanity. Don't rely on it.

Where did my Zelle go? TD to SoFi

I sent a Zelle from my TD account to my other account in SoFi. It shows processed from TD but still has not arrived in my SoFi account. It's been more than 24 hours.

I called TD, Zelle and Sofi and they all say just wait. Zelle is supposed to be instant, anyone have this experience from these 2 banks specifically? Can you share how long it took to receive the instant Zelle from a TD- SoFi account transfer? Thanks in advance for any input.

Where did a Zelle payment go to?

So recently started using Zelle and wasn't familiar with it before. A couple weeks ago, I sent a small Zelle test payment to someone's phone number before I realized that that person needed to enroll in Zelle with their bank first. They enrolled a couple days after I sent the test payment, but they enrolled with their email address instead of their phone number.

They never received the test payment I sent even though the amount was deducted from my bank account. I'm wondering where my payment is now. Should it be in someone's bank account by now? Or is Zelle holding on to it and will eventually return it to my account if they can't transfer the payment to a bank account in a certain amount of time (e.g. 30 days)? I don't think anyone else could have registered the other person's phone number for Zelle as they've had it for 5+ years.

Random person sending money

I keep receiving a text message from a genuine Wells Fargo number, saying someone keeps sending me money through Zelle. I don’t have a Wells Fargo account, or any bank that uses Zelle for that matter. How can someone be sending me money through Zelle if I don’t have any accounts that have Zelle? I tried to make a Wells Fargo account but they have a random phone number tied to my social security number? Am I having my identity stolen?

Reverse a Zelle Transaction

Is there anyway to reverse or dispute a Zelle action? I sent some money to a person, but they never received it despite having a confirmation on my end with an email receipt and on my mobile banking. They’re now refusing to perform the job I’m paying them for, and I’m hoping to reverse/dispute it.

Name and email address attached to wrong phone number?

My son’s father was sending me cash for an upcoming field trip for our child. He used my email address. First name last name at gmail, very simple. He confirmed my first name, last name and email on the Zelle account. Once the funds were sent, an unrecognized phone number popped up. This is not the phone number attached to my current Zelle account that I use quite frequently. How is it possible for my name and email to be attached to that old phone number? Why would Zelle send funds to an old number instead of my current number, which is entirely updated with my current info?

How the heck do I find a recipient's 'Zelle Tag'?

I have been sending this recipient funds from US Bank, which only needed an email address and mobile number, in addition to their name. However, I want to set them up at Chase, and their system is asking for my recipient's "Zelle Tag".

What the heck is a Zelle Tag? My recipient only sees the money appear in her account and has no idea what Zelle even is. She does not have a Zelle profile and has never set it up or used it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
