Which model to get for Sushi Rice, Jasmine Rice, and Brown Rice?

I'm looking to get my first rice cooker. I generally cook rice 2-3 times a week for meal prep, may switch to once and do it in bulk, which is usually a long grain rice. Then once every week or two making sushi rice to make sushi. I used to make more brown rice more often then a white long grain rice.

I'd like to stick below $300 but open to going above if it's really worth it. The two i've been seeing pop up the most are the NL-EAC10 and the NS-ZCC10. I live by myself so 5.5cups is plenty.

(Looking for info)Just found this at Value Village

Hello! I just found this Zojirushi at Value Village, didn't have a chance to plug it in at the store, but took a gamble for the low price of $10.99 CAD. Seems to work fine, looks to be in good shape. I did a little research and couldn't come across much info about the model (NS-MVF18T). The controls are all in Japanese, was curious to see if anyone could help me figure out what some of the functions are!

Thanks in advance!

The clock works but none of the buttons work.

The unit seems to be getting power but none of the buttons are responding any thoughts?

anyone have measurements for NS series 3 cup rice cooker inner pots?

i picked up a working NS-KCC05 rice cooker from the thrift recently, but the inner pan's teflon lining is really beat up and id like to replace it. it's a pretty old model so of course zojirushi doesn't sell any replacement parts and none of the third party options claim to fit the model. however looking on the official replacement parts website, it seems like they may use the same pot across models in the same series (e.g. NS-LAC05/NS-LGC95/NS-LHC05 inner pots all look identical) and just change the part number. so i was wondering if anyone could share measurements of any pots that came with a 3 cup NS- machine, especially:

  • B250
  • 8-NSL-P220
  • B482-6B

looking for height, outer diameter (outside edge of the top lip) and inner diameter (pot body), cm preferred but we can always do some math :)

Possible to change the time setting on this one?

My rice cooker is stuck on Japan time. That was fine when I lived in Japan but I'm on the east coast now. I can't figure out if it's possible to change the time on it. The time cam preset on it.

We have a zojirushi rice cooker that we clean the body and lid. About 12 hours after making rice, the rice starts to smell moldy and awful. We’ve followed the directions and done the vinegar wash several times, baking soda wash, etc but nothing seems to make this smell go away. Help!

Stickers?

Hihi !! I was just wondering if anybody knew if it was safe to put stickers (the waterproof kind meant for water bottles) on the outside of my zojirushi rice cooker, provided I don't cover up the vent or hinges or anything. I'm kind of attached to him and I want to make him cute haha. Thanks!

I ran water over my Zojirushi to wash it and now there’s no power

My apartment have some roaches over the last couple of months so pest control came to kill it and there was some roaches inside the rice cooker so I decided to rinsed water all over the rice cooker to clean it. I washed the underside of it as well. After that I let it dry outside for a day and when I went to plug it in, there’s no power. Did I kill it by washing it with water? Can it be fixed?

This thing was almost $200 something so I’d like to save it if I can.

Cooking other things than rice in rice cooker - lingering smell?

Hi,

I have had my Zojirushi NS-YSQ10 for a good while now. Even though it has a slow cooker function, I've never used since I heard a claim saying that when cooking other stuff than rice in a rice cooker (let's say a flavourful gulasch), there is a risk of lingering smell of said dish remaining that could affect the taste of rice cooked afterwards.

To those of you that have used the slow cooker function, made one pot style rice meals etc, is there any truth in the "smell might linger" claim?
