My side mirror has this damage, and I want to do paint touchup / Smart Repair. Any recommendations of garages. I wouldn’t mind if it’s in Abu Dhabi, Dubai or even Sharjah or Ajman as I drive there almost every week. I need someone who does a decent job without charging an arm.
I used to wonder why people sell their cars to Cars24 or Kavak for what looks like 60 to 70% of the actual market value. Now that I’m trying to sell my own car, I finally understand.
When you post an ad online, 90% of the messages you get are either:
“What’s your final price?” and then disappears forever
Or people offering half, sometimes even a quarter, of the listed price.
Then you get the remaining 10% who seem genuinely interested. They ask every possible detail about the car, and then say:
“But I saw the same car online for 20% less.”
My response is always:
“Then why don’t you buy that one?”
And that’s when the truth comes out.
“Oh, that one had a major accident.”
“That one was flooded.”
“That one has an engine oil leak.”
“That one has transmission issues.”
So everyone can clearly see the difference between a good car and a bad car. Everyone knows why one is cheaper.
But when it comes to buying a properly maintained car, serviced on time with genuine parts, a car that’s been looked after like a baby, suddenly they want it for the same price as the flooded, accidented, neglected one.
That’s the part I find funny.
People love pointing out why the cheap cars are cheap. But when it’s time to pay for a well maintained car, they pretend those differences don’t matter.
At some point, you start understanding why people just give up and sell to Cars24 or Kavak. That’s their victory.
The other day I saw a guy on Reddit who ended up selling his Ram for less than half of his original asking price. He probably went through the exact same circus.
Everybody wants a clean car. But, nobody wants to pay clean car money.
Been thinking to rant about this topic for a long time😅.
