Transferring my pre-booking for a Jetour G700 Flagship (2027), help me not lose my deposit

Hello dear redditors of UAE,

TLDR: Pre-booked a Jetour G700 Flagship – 2.0TD Dual Motor back in early August, but due to unforeseen circumstances I'm no longer able to go through with the purchase.

Rather than forfeit my deposit, I'm hoping to find someone who was already planning to get this car and can take over the booking.

Details:

  • Make/Model: Jetour G700 Flagship, 2.0TD Dual Motor
  • Model Year: 2027
  • Exterior: Light Brown
  • Interior: Orange
  • Selling Price: AED 240,450
  • Deposit already paid: AED 10,000 (would need to be reimbursed to me if you take over)
  • Registration: Dubai
  • Booking date: 04/08/2026, includes 45 days + clearance offer

If you're interested in this exact spec and want to skip the wait/paperwork on a fresh booking, DM me and we can sort out transferring it through the dealership directly.

2019 C300 showing errors + incorrect speed — need help finding a good garage

I’m getting this error every time I start the car. I can clear it temporarily, but it comes back on every startup.
The speedometer is also reading incorrectly — confirmed the difference with Waze. Tires are all the correct size according to the door sticker.
I’ve already tried disconnecting the battery and a few other basic fixes, but nothing has worked.
I was told the car may need programming/coding.
Can anyone recommend a reliable garage in Abu Dhabi/Dubai that can diagnose and fix this? Preferably somewhere reasonably priced.
Thanks!

Another garage quoted this Veloster a full engine replacement for a P030400 code (misfire). It just needed a fuel pressure rail.

Hey guys, just wanted to share a diagnostic case study from our garage in Al Quoz Dubai that shows why it is always worth getting a second opinion before dropping serious cash on a major repair.

A customer brought their Hyundai Veloster down to us from Ajman. They were understandably stressed out because a garage up there told them the engine was done and needed to be completely replaced. The catch? That garage couldn't actually explain why the engine failed or provide a root cause analysis before jumping straight to an engine swap.

The Symptoms:
Cylinder 4 misfire (Code P030400)
Engine running rough/unstable

The Diagnostic Process:
Before condemning an engine, you always check mechanical health first. We hooked it up and ran an engine compression test across all cylinders. The results came back solid, pulling 163.4 PSI evenly across the board. Since Cylinder 4 had healthy, strong compression, we immediately ruled out internal mechanical failure like bent valves or bad piston rings.

With the mechanical side cleared, we looked at fueling. That is when we spotted a physical fuel pressure rail leak right near the Cylinder 4 injector. The cylinder wasn't dead; it was just losing fuel pressure and starving.

The Fix:
Instead of a massive engine bill, a simple AED 650 fuel pressure rail replacement was all it took. We swapped out the leaking part, cleared the codes, and test-ran the car. The idle stabilized completely, the misfire is gone, and the engine runs perfectly.

It is crazy how often major components get condemned without basic diagnostic steps being followed. If a garage ever tells you that you need a new engine or transmission but can't give you a clear, logical explanation of the root cause, definitely get a second opinion.

What’s the craziest misdiagnosis a garage has ever given you before you got a second opinion?

First time car buyer

Hi all, I recently moved to Dubai and I’m planning on buying a car but I don’t even know where to start! Back in Europe we tend to buy directly from dealership as they have used car and avoid any apps.

Is it different here? Should I buy directly from dealerships or used car lots? I’m not looking for something new by the way, just something affordable and used.
Thanks!

Nissan Service

Any recommended places to service a ’26 Nissan X-Trail in Dubai?

I know most garages can do it, but I’m looking for somewhere reliable, or ideally Nissan-approved if that’s even a thing.
Nissan (Arabian Automobiles) wants to charge around AED 1,400 for a minor service, which feels very steep, and I just don’t see the value in it. Also, when I went for the first free service, I didn’t feel they were particularly professional and it seemed like they were mainly trying to sell as many accessories/service packages as possible. They didn’t even wash the car properly, saying only a basic wash was included.
Also, just to confirm: servicing the car outside the dealership doesn’t void the warranty, right?

Anyone with a Lamborghini

This might be a random request, but going for a ride in a Lamborghini has genuinely been one of my dreams for a long time

If anyone here owns one and wouldn’t mind taking me for a short drive sometime, I’d honestly appreciate it so much! I’d be happy to cover fuel/coffee or whatever works.

Just trying to tick one thing off the bucket list

Mazda 3 died while driving right after battery replacement. Bad alternator or mechanic mistake?

My car had a completely dead battery, so I had it replaced. After replacing it, the mechanic advised me that the alternator was faulty and recommended that I should not drive my car. He offered to pickup my car the following day and take it to their workshop for repairs.

I told him that the car was also due for a service, so I would have it checked at the same time. He replied that I should have my garage collect the vehicle, and I just nodded.

The next morning, when I started the car, I noticed a very loud vibrating/rattling noise that had never been there before. It sounded as though something was loose and shaking inside the engine bay.

I drove out of my parking anyway, and shortly afterwards the engine suddenly shut off while I was driving.

Before the battery replacement, this loud vibration did not exist. Could the alternator alone have caused these symptoms, or is it possible that something may have been disturbed or incorrectly fitted during the battery replacement?
