Hi, I’m 40 M - Fiirst in 2024 Dec i felt something weird with my leg a pain/and very mild tingling. Went for PT that made it absolute mess, again tried multiple session to get back - cupping, needling that pain episode lasted for about 3-4 months pain was like 5-6/10 but manageable with muscle relaxants and NSAIDs. MRI done, shows bulge at L5S1 it got eased by PT (thanks to the practitioner). Next flare up came exactly after a year in March 2026, when i again started feeling pain, bit of numbness and tingling in left feet. Went for MRI, GP said no need for surgery now Lets continue with PT. about a week back i lifted a water can (20 Ltrs) and god i couldn’t get up next to next morning from bed. Pain was almost 8/10 or may be 9. Rushed to hospital, doc said to go for MRI and said bulge is now Extrusion which was in March mentioned as protrusion. They kept me in hospital for pain management but it did not subside may be 10-20% max. Then doc said we have to go for MD. I’m now in 3rd day post op recovering. What to expect? I’m very nervous about getting back to life, play with my kid, i love driving, playing pool. So hows good recovery look like in 1/2 and 3rd week.
