Went today to the Humane Center for Animals Welfare to visit the lovely Luna.

She is well behaved and getting used to walking on leash... She is so quiet, even when she got scared from bigger dogs.

I hope you can help me find her a loving family to will adopt her.

It's been more than 20 years since I set foot downtown Amman & after an hour's walk I developed mixed feelings.

The good ones were nostalgic feelings, they took me back to my childhood, school & even university days.

The thrill of seeing Habeeba in that alley, Hashem restaurant, the old Arab Bank, even the iconic Shaheen roastery around the corner, Abu Hatem butchery... They all brought somewhat nice memories.

Then the horrible stench that did not seem to have changed over the past 20+ years hit me 🤢 The mixed smell of garbage, tobacco, butchers' leftovers, rotten fruits and vegetables, all in one was enough to destroy any good feeling I had developed.

Then seeing a group of capable men sitting and smoking shisha at 7 am in the morning was disturbing. The people walking around young or old having the iconic cigarettes dangling down their mouths was also enough to wipe out all the efforts of face lifting the city.

As I am typing this, I noticed that I really didn't like it at all... It disappoints me that progress is limited to polishing the facade while the interior remains as it has always been.

It shouldn't be about making the venues more appealing for tourists, the focus should be on developing the local population, introducing heathy habits & benefit the community.

This beauty "Luna" is a local breed dog... She's around seven (7) months old & looking for a forever home.

So help me find her a loving home & family to adopt her & give her the life she deserves.

I was checking out the key traits for local dogs & here's a summary:

1. Lineage & Build:

They are part of an ancient, resilient line of desert pariah dogs. They feature an athletic, medium-sized build with an adaptable double coat that protects them from extreme weather. While sandy tones are common, striking black-and-white patterns frequently appear.

2. Temperament:

They are highly intelligent, masterful problem solvers, and fiercely loyal to their trusted circle. Because of their survival instincts, they can be aloof or cautious around strangers and naturally vigilant guardians of their territory.

3. Health:

Thanks to a diverse gene pool, they are incredibly robust, possess strong immune systems, and are free from many of the congenital health issues found in purebred dogs.

4. Key Care Needs:

Building a relationship requires patience, consistent boundaries, and earning their trust through food and calm body language. They thrive on mental stimulation (like puzzle games) and early socialization to curb over-vigilance.

I was told by my family that this street & this movie theater (Cinema Al Khayam) used to be the hot spot back in the day .... 60 or more years ago.

It is so sad to see it turn into a dump & public urinary.

There are stones in these streets that simply shout history.

I wish I could find her a forever home 💕

Great achievement Team Jordan to reach the World Cup qualifiers for the first time in history.

Good effort for the team during the matches.

I hope now we don't spend the next year creating excuses for the losses & blaming this & that.

I also hope that we don't spend the next four years glorifying the team for the goals they scored despite the losses.

& I genuinely hope that the focus will be on developing new & upcoming talents who would bridge the gaps that were apparent in the last few matches specially Offence and Goal Keeping.
