Today I was shocked to receive a very sad piece of news about the passing of a relative who was also a classmate of mine.

I have to admit we have not been in touch for ages; however, the news hit me hard. I feel like a hand is crushing my heart and very sad overwhelming feeling.

The moment I received the news, a flashback of our high school days literally rolled in front of my eyes, I remember the laughs we had at a mutual friend's gathering about the silly stuff that used to entertain us at the time.

Personally, I find solace in writing/typing my thoughts in times like this, hence I'm sharing.

At moments like this, one realizes how fragile life is, one day we are here, the other we are not, so let's make our short time on this Earth count, by being kind towards one another, by being tolerant & by helping other living souls πŸ™πŸ»

I gently ask you to pray for his soul and for strength to bestow on his parents, wife and offspring.

May your days be filled with happiness, and cherish every second with your loved ones.

True - we live in a fast paced city!

True - one spends years in a building without knowing a neighbor!

However, exceptions happen!

The other day while I was parking in my building, I came across a couple standing by their car with a dead battery.

In short, we collaborated to jump start their car, which was the normal thing to do as a common courtesy & that's that, they were very kind & thankful.

Today, I returned home to find this lovely package hanging on my unit's door with a very heartfelt thank you note from the same lovely couple.

Such people are gems, gems in their manners & gems in their gentleness.

I am certain there are great people out there, so let us all be kind and helpful towards each other and discover the greatness in people around us.
