AIO or not on Puppy sitting situation

I’m new to puppy sitting and was watching a 9-week-old puppy for about 5 days, usually 6–8 hours a day for around $20. ( money isn’t the issue as i said they can give however they are comfortable with) the owners would drop off and pick her up from my place

One thing that did bother me was the timing. They would give me a specific time for dropping her off or picking her up but they would show up around an hour early or an late instead of the time. I never complained about it. They had also complained to me about problems they had with their previous sitter.
The reason I asked again about the feeding was because the puppy was spending most of the day with me (11-7)so I was confused about when she was getting all the food they said they were using for training. I'm new to puppy sitting, so I searched online and it said 2 times was not normal.
That's why I asked one more time just to make sure. I still followed their instructions and did NOT feed her after they told me not to.
Later I told them I wouldn't be able to continue watching her ,I also felt a little weird about the owner's response because I had sent a message thanking them.l wasn't expecting that kind of response back and i just ignored it and after like 40 mins she asked about the feeding they messaged me again asking if I had fed the puppy
Everything after that is in the screenshots.
After that i didn't see a point in continuing to go back and forth when the sitting arrangement was already over, so i blocked them.
This was my first experience puppy sitting and honestly after this I just feel like quitting. Everything with them had been going really good until this day.
I'm genuinely wondering if I did something wrong here on how it should have been handled, how would most pet sitters handle this also how to set the boundaries on timing. If there is anything i can improve on

UPDATE ON COMMENTS - ( with ss of the owner’s response and my response after this)
