Stuck in a installation push-back loop
I've been trying to get Ziply installed for a month now in my new house in Portland, OR. I called 3 weeks before move-in to confirm that I had access to service, and was assured that Ziply records showed my house already had fiber running to it. That seemed logical since the house was built in 2018 and fiber was in the area already at that time.
Three weeks later, 1 day after closing, the tech comes to install the fiber. Only he can't find any fiber actually going to the house. After 30 minutes of investigating, he determined that fiber is not currently going to the house, just to all my neighbors. He says I will need to have a team come out to lay the drop cable and then he can come back out and finish the install.
A contractor who does the drop cable installation came out 3 times over the next week, trying multiple things to get a connection out of the fiber box on the street to my house. None of them worked so they said they needed to get a drill bore to run it, and will need utility companies to mark anything that's buried on my property between the box and my house. A couple days later the utility guys showed up and painted all the lines for water, gas, cables, etc. That was 2 weeks ago and since then I keep getting notified of installation dates coming and going, and getting pushed back without explanation.
Today it went so far as the contractors texted me to let me know they're on their way and will be at my place soon to start. 10 minutes later they apologize and say they had the job pulled from them - no explanation was given to them. Ziply reaches out to tell me that the installation is pushed back 2 more weeks since the drop cable wasn't installed. No one can tell me who canceled my drop cable install or why. By the time someone gets out here, I bet the utility line marking will be gone and it will get canceled again.
Has anyone successfully been able to escalate to get answers in a similar situation? Ziply customer support says they can't see anything on the contractor side. The contractor company number they gave me goes through a Ziply welcome message then "the call could not be completed due to a technical error". Dead end, no way to get answers.
