Do you guys mind hospital doctors meddling with issues unrelated to their specialty?

I'm a trainee in a group 1 specialty so do plenty of GIM. Often, when I see patients in clinic, they mentions issues that are unrelated to my specialty but I feel confident assessing/investigating. Obviously, this means that I may need ask the GP to prescribe things or organise something like repeat bloods.

Is this something you find annoying or helpful? Do you mind hospital doctors looking into issues that might require further action from you or would you rather we ask the patients to follow up with you instead?

Just want to be helpful and not piss you off/create extra work for you and wanted to get some feedback!

To doctors who quit

What made you quit and when did you know it was the right time? I'm not talking about taking a break or going to work abroad, I'm talking about quitting medicine all together. And if you are comfortable sharing, what are you doing now? Especially interested in doctors who left for to health reasons or because they felt they weren't suited to career in medicine after some time in clinical practice. And I guess if anyone has left for a long time due to health reasons and then came back, at what point did you feel you were ready to come back?

Happy to be DMd if anyone is happy to share their story but not publicly, and thank you in advance for any replies (as may not be able to reply for a while)

Niche question about Asics vs Altra

I know this is a super specific question but I'm hoping someone can answer. Before I switched to barefoot and zero drop shoes, I used to wear the Asics tri noosa 14, which were the perfect level of softness for me to wear at work. They no longer fit me (feet have grownswince switching to barefoot) and I recently got some Altra Escalante Racer 2 shoes instead (largely because they seemed super airy, as my feet run hot) and the foam seem SO hard, and is exacerbating an old meniscal injury. So I am just wondering if anyone can recommend and Altra shoe that might be of similar softness/cushioning to the Asics try Noosa 14?

Would really appreciate any suggestions! Unfortunately, I am unable to try these anywhere in person so would be relying on on-line sites, which makes things a bit trickier...

How many steps do you do on an average day?

And what kinds of surfaces do you walk on? I see loads of people on here talking about how much comfier barefoot shoes are for them compared to cushioned ones, but I'm genuinely wondering if they are walking the same distances and on the same surfaces as me - when I come back from weekend at work walking 15-20,000 steps a day on concrete, as happy as my toes are, my knee with an already dodgy meniscus really, really feels it and I wonder if I'm doing more harm than good with barefoot shoes.

I have hyperhidrosis, which means I sweat significantly more than the average person. It especially affects my groin, which you can't see, but also my armpits, which you can. I am hygienic, so I don't smell, but unless I wear clothes that hide it, I have very obvious sweat patches under my arms, including during the coldest days in the winter. Prescription strength antiperspirants and other treatments I have tried haven't helped, and I am not willing to try expensive and painful treatments like Miradry.

So I am just curious how much people would judge someone like me if you saw me with sweat patches. For what it's worth, I am female, healthy weight, and I work in a public-facing role where I have to look presentable. Would you consider me gross and unprofessional if I was to wear clothes that didn't hide my sweat? Would it be more acceptable to you to see it in the summer?

I'm just bored to death of wearing black. But also don't want to gross people out and make anyone think I am disgusting because I already feel like I am.

Does anyone here own both Splay Freestyle and Splay Rev skate and can tell me how the soles feels in comparison to each other? I'm looking for a leather shoe that I can wear as a smart casual shoe to work, but I need something with a bit of cushioning, and my Revs are super cushioned compared to other barefoot shoes I own so I am considering the new Freestyle leather. Do the Freestyles feel similar to the Rev or are they more minimal?
