i have some thoughts about this device i’d like to share, 95% good

Positives/Features: the sticks feel very premium, better than the deck and less plasticky.

the right trackpad acts as a mouse on the desktop and the left as a scroll wheel by default

the weight balance is extraordinary, i love the way it feels in my hands. very good stick placement so fighting games will be a blast on this

the D pad is a very large improvement from the deck, much more clicky. not plastic clicky like the xbox controllers but not as mushy as the deck

the pucks magnet is very strong, it clicks up while just hovering

this is by far the most repairable controller to date. zero clips, just screws to open it and the battery is as easy to replace once you have it open as AA batteries as there is no wires, just contact pads for the battery connection

maybe be issues: the back buttons placement are not like normal controllers where your middle and ring fingers are the ones to click it, it is your ring and pinky

the screw holes can be annoying to some people, though i do not feel them personally

my one big issue: since valve is heavy on repairability they also went for simplicity. there is what looks to be near zero dust protection on the controllers, so any food particles or liquid can get straight into the controller. this is not a controller you can snack with like the xbox ones that you can just wipe off (bad picture in comments, it’s more obvious in person

EDIT: one more issue, on the current firmware there is a small issue

when it is fully charged there is no light, it just turns off. so it looks like it’s not charging unlike the deck where it turns white

also never even took it into public worlds, plus it’s clothed? idek why THIS one got banned

is there a ban wave happening?
