Starting a no-frills Lightweight touring blog. Looking for honest feedback and constructive criticism

I got tired of reading touring blogs packed with ten paragraphs of life-story waffle and misty mountain passes before you actually get to the gear lists or route stats. So, I’m putting together a stripped-back, zero-fluff site based on my own tours:https://sedaohr.blogspot.com/

It’s massively unfinished right now, and I already know the picture formatting is clunky. (working on it).

It was inspired by a blog I read in 2016 before bike packing really took off. It was about an ultra lightweight tourer and I want to emulate the raw feel of the blog. The vibe is minimal and focused on the things you actually want to know as someone embarking on a trip yourself not pages of crap about how I found myself spiritual awakened. It's for gear nerds basically. I don't want to monetize it. I am doing it purely to pass on some knowledge I gleaned in my research.

Mostly just looking for some constructive pointers from people who actually ride and tour.

I'm interested to hear people's worst or rather best lack of sanitation stories on extended trips?

I'll go first..... In Spain there were tonnes of fig trees at the side of the road and they were just ripe and excellent for eating, however, I have an obsessive personality so I didn't just eat one I ate loads for the whole day. Suffice to say I was cycling along a medium-ish traffic dense stretch of road that had the occasional car sauntering past and out of nowhere I had this insatiable need to crap. I was really fortunate that I was just at a ditch with a tiny wall. I had to crouch down and deliver the most severe figarrhoea Spanish soil had ever witnessed. That wasn't the hard part. I then had to wait for cars to pass so I could stand up to get a few wipes in before crouching down again. I was up and down like a whack-a-mole. I also nearly fell in the darn pile. It felt great yet slightly nerve wracking as I didn't want to get caught with my pants down literally.

Ventoux, Alps or Pyrenees?

Has anyone done all 3 and if so what was your favourite? I liked Ventoux the best even though it's isolated and not in a range like the others then probably the Pyrenees. I absolutely loved Tourmalet. The scenery was probably more dramatic in the alps but it's something about the Pyrenees that felt more enjoyable, I can't quite put my finger on it, perhaps because it was quieter.

£1 per mile approximately. What were your budgets like?

Both these trips were roughly 2000 miles and I roughly took 2 grand which leads to the simple maths. This allowed me to have some hotels, some restaurant meals, some campsites and then some nights I slept at the side of the road, in the woods or in bus stops and ate Tuna on bread. A mix of luxury & roughing it depending on my mood and location. Interested to hear what people spend on average and how they like spending.

M/37/5'8, [65KG > 118KG > 101KG = Gained 53 kg during covid in 4 years then lost 16kg in 4 years], Still working on it.

This is the effects of Covid lockdown, being sectioned a couple times and then getting on a medication regime that is slowly getting my motivation back. In my experience it's easy to gain, hard to get fit again.

Schwinn Moab

This is my main training bike. Added a modern saddle, Schwalbe marathons, granite dust caps and got rid of the racks.

Looking for advice on crossing the Atlantic by sail boat please!

Having previously cycled a big loop round the whole of France and Spain I'm in the early stages of planning an extended trip. My intended route is as follows: England > Portugal/ Spain > Morocco, then here is the bit I'm looking for advice on. I want to cross the Atlantic and was suggested by a sailor that Canaries to Cabo Verde to Brasil was the trade wind route. Does anyone have any insight into this non cycling leg but cruical to my plan on heading west and chasing an endless summer.
