in remission since 2024 - just lost 4lbs in 5 months… help reading bloodwork?

ralphie is around 4 years old and weighed 12lbs back in january. i just took him to the vet as he has a spot of hair loss with what looks like a scab, about the size of a quarter.

they weighed him and he was 8.7lbs. i’m shocked and disappointed with myself that i didn’t notice this weight loss as it’s a good amount of weight! it’s about 30% of his total weight that he lost.

he’s still eating well (always yelling when feeding times are soon) and using the bathroom alright, and i haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary for him. every once in a while he’ll have a bout of softer/loose stool, but it always resolves itself within a couple of days.

the vet called me to discuss his bloodwork and said that it doesn’t seem like he’s relapsing, and that FIV also came back negative (it was positive when he was undergoing treatment for FIP). i had asked him to test for hyperthyroidism and he said that was also negative.

he didn’t seem concerned with the levels that were high/low (lymphs, eosinophils, absolute neutrophils) and didn’t really go into detail about them when i asked.

does anyone have any sort of idea what could be going on? i’m so stumped because he’s acting normal, but the weight loss has me scared!

i love a subtle lil shimmer!

i used to be a habitual biter/picker and sometimes it still gets the better of me, but i’m trying really hard to keep them beautiful because it makes me feel confident!

polish is gelcare - 2 coats of south sea pearl under 1 coat of rose water!
