Locked out of Work Microsoft Account

I'll go step by step...

  1. Got a new phone and erased the old one before registering the new one in microsoft account for MFA using Microsoft Authenticator App.
  2. Office MAC looged me out of my Work email, teams and browser session meaning I need to login again to get access to those. For some reason everytime I restart my MAC or open it next day I had to do login again.
  3. Tried to login and realised I will not get the authentication notification in authenticator since I erased old phone and new phone is not yet registered.

  1. I hit "Next" and the I see below for about 5 seconds. I am assuming this is the screen that shows me the QR code I need to scan with my authenticator app to re-register my device.

​This is consistently hapening no matter which device, wifi network, mobile data I try with. My IT depertment says they have tried everything they can.

I waited full 48 hours so that any backend flag/cache/suspected behaviour timer would exhaust but I am still facing this.

I have gone through coutless online forums but everywhere the issue resolves once IT team resets the MFA. Not in my case though.

One more thing, I have another Work Account ( microsoft ) where I was able to register my device with no drama. I had "Get code via Call" option along with SMS and I opted for it during that 24 hour SMS blockage on transferring eSIM from old device to new.

I really should have registered my new device before erasing the old one. Super regretting doing that now.

Is there any option left that I can try to get this sorted ? I truly apprituate any advise you people can provide me.

P.S. I do a lot of spelling mistakes, sorry about those.

Edit: Things IT has already tried...

  1. Removed the requirement of MFA for my account so that Microsoft would let me in.
  2. Refreshing all cache in the backend.

Edit 2: One more detail, I don’t know how relevant it is, I am getting the login code via SMS on my second try consistently. Not first but second. I request for it and nothing happens. Then I cancel and try again and boom the SMS arrives. This is happening consistently.

FaceID for UPI payments

So I just found out that you can actually make UPI payments using just FaceID ( Touch ID in Android )

But I can’t seem to decide if that’s safer or more risky.

Sure it’s cool to just glance at your phone and transaction goes through but still…

What do others think about this ? Am I late to the party ?

I am writing this with a genuine heavy heart. I have been using Gameloot service since PS5 came out. Never did I expect to get into such an unprofessional practice of conducting business.

I bought a RE9 PS5 disk from them. Played and finished the game in 10 days ( 13 hours playthrough ) then returned the disk.

I explicitly checked the disk before sending it back.

IT AWAS SCRATCH FREE.

I especially checked the disk because one of my previous returns was rejected stating the same reason. At that time the disk had few scratches in it so I took it back without any complaints.

A point to note is that out of the two games which I returned back the one with very few minute scratches was played for 100s of hours. Hence it was understandable that they rejected it. I thought their standards were really high which is a good thing. So I happily took it back.

But this time around I ensured that the disk had no scratches before I handed it over to the pickup person. Packed it in a box just as they say.

Then I got a call from Gameloot claiming that the disk has scratches. I told them I explicitly checked the disk it had no scratches before sending it to them. They refused to do a double check and notified me that the disk will be returned back to me. Fair.

But like I said, I was 100% sure the disk had no scratches. How could it develop scratches on the way when it is safely packed.

There is a very very very high chance that they replaced my good disk with one of their defective ones. The game is still installed in my PS5 but there is no check which could sense a different disk than the original one that was used for installing the game. If the license is good the game will run even if it is a different disk.

If they had sent me my disk I could have tried Gamenation but the one I got has so many scratches that no one will accept it.

What an absolute utter disappointment.

Be careful fellow gamers. There is no way for you to ensure that the disk will not be replaced by these services. No evidence will be provided either.

Anyway. Sad day. Let's just keep gaming.
