Marshall TSL/JVM vs DSL?

I bought my Marshall DSL100HR at the start of 2025 and for the most part, I’ve enjoyed it. I mainly play it as an imitation of a JCM 800 or when tracking as a compliment to a Rectifier. I like the tones but hate the fact that all 4 channels have to share the EQ dials, I can’t truly have them separate. The obvious answer would be to upgrade to a JVM but the TSL100 would be about the same cash wise if I traded my DSL for it. I am aware that any model pre-2004/2005 have bias drift issues and would be a PCB fix but any model after 2005 I should be golden. I’ve heard some sound samples of the TSL and they seem in line with the DSL, but there’s a reason the JVM has been the flagship since 2007. I’m trying to hear people out before I make a decision.

Scored a Bogner Uberkab

Not bad for $500, just had to go crosstown, wait 2 hours and lift it 4 flights of stairs into my apartment 😂

Trying out recording my actual 4x12, feedback would be nice

I’ve been using IRs for about 2 years but invested in a 4x12 and actually want to use it. I bought this about 2 years ago and it’s loaded with 2 versions of Celestion V30s (China made on the top, Vox Neo Dogs on the bottom). I recorded them through my EVH 5150 IIIS with a SM57 near the center. Only one gave me a tone that I thought was useable (speaker 4), the others weren’t loud or define enough to me. I’m contemplating changing the speakers to the newer V30s, any feedback would be appreciated

Driver Error with Axe Fx 2 XL+/Fractal Edit

I’m having an issue with my 2 XL+ lately. Axe-Edit isn’t connecting to my unit despite it being plugged into the usb port. My recordings have muddy and fading in and out in terms of volume. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to my Focusrite Scarlett and that’s gotten it back to normal. My Axe Fx 2XL+, however, is still not connecting to my laptop or Axe Edit despite me removing and reinstalling the driver 3 times now. I don’t know what to do

Signal Issues While Recording

Lately I’ve been having signal issues while recording. Whenever I’d record it would sound like the volume would constantly dip in and out no matter what guitar I’d use. I would swap out cables to make sure they weren’t the cause, but I’d still have this problem occur in my recordings. It didn’t matter if it were a factory preset or one I made. Anyone have tips to figure out what’s the problem?

Newest Edition to the Collection: Hughes & Kettner Duotone

I bought this last week as a birthday/new job present. So far I’ve been 0-2 with Hughes & Kettner amp; the Trilogy didn’t have as much gain as expected and while the TriAmp Mk 1 sounded great in the room, it was difficult to work with in a mix. I’ve wanted the TriAmp Mk 2 but kept hearing conflicting opinions about and at my old job was just a hair out of my budget. I found a Duotone from Japan and saw that Breaking Benjamin used them in their earlier days. A week later and it’s everything I wanted from the prior 2 amps. An awesome low end but clarity in the mids and highs. The only issue now is after a day of play it cut out. I was recording and left the amp idle while mixing on my laptop; it has the 4 cable method with my pedalboard while plugged into my Two Notes Tornado Captor 8. After 30 minutes the sound was gone. I tried turning it off and on again but nothing. The tubes were fine and I was using the right ohms. I don’t know what happened. I just need to find a solution sooner or later, but I love this thing!
