I’m about to have a really massive event at work that will either go really well or really poorly and i won’t have a job. I decided either way i wanna do a little staycation afterwards to decompress. I’m from the bay area but I generally never done a relaxed vacation around here. I’m looking for places that aren’t too far (two-three hourish drive), and on the cheaper side because my plan is to literally just lay around and maybe go in the pool or hot tub lol.

Okay this is kind of random and might take a minute for me to explain so bear with me haha. I’m medicated for anxiety and receive therapy but it’s almost my anxiety doesn’t fully dissipate unless i have regular human contact like physical touch. It’s like this pressure in my chest is relieved. So i love cuddling and annoying my family friends within their own boundaries haha. But i currently don’t have any close friends or anyone that i guess i can just cuddle with. The only friend currently living around me hates it and my pets are my cats and they don’t tolerate me laying on them for longer than five minutes. I sleep with a body pillow and that helps a lot but there’s just the entire day as well. Maybe i’m not medicated enough haha or maybe there’s something else but i’m curious if there’s anyone with a similar issue and how they delt with it :)

Well i stayed in a bed with at a hotel with a family member who woke up covered in bed bug bites, this was only on the second day of our two night stay. I did not have any bites but i also didn’t sleep on the pillow and i slept on top of the blankets. I could also just not be allergic? Unfortunately bevUse we didn’t realize they were bed bugs i did walk into my apartment wearing the clothes from that day and slept in my bad but only after taking a shower and changing. I kept my clothes in a special bag that was in my backpack. I’m washing everything that touched me in that hotel at 60C. The good/bad thing is that i’m moving out of the apartment i’m at literally tomorrow lmao.

Should i wash my backpack as well? Is there a different procedure because i’m not allergic or possibly didn’t get bitten??

I’m lowkey freaking out because of how little time i have as i still need to pack and all that jazz.

I’ve been having massive issues recently finding clothes that fit me! I’ve never really had this issue before it seems like all of a sudden stores started making the chest part of their clothing smaller and i’m struggling so much. My issue is that if i get a size M it fits my waist/arms normally but then my chest barely buttons or is super tight. If i go up to an L/XL it’s way too loose on my waist/arms and the chest might fit… I think cheaper clothing stores tend to be better but I want to get quality clothing especially for workwear and going out outfits. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Sup BWT! I’m redoing my room and desperately need to get rid of furniture (quite literally stuff i moved from my childhood bedroom)! I really want my room to have a nice, kind of antique eclectic vibe to it. Where are the best places to get this kind of furniture?

I’ve been reading through this sub religiously but I have a lot of anxiety rn about the job market so i wanted to ask some questions about getting employed by the state :)

I graduated with a BA in econ from a UC and am about to finish my masters in econ from a european university. I’m applying mostly to Analyst I positions but i’m also going to start looking at other entry level ones. I don’t have a ton of direct experience in what a lot of these roles are asking for like some have Salesforce in their desired qualifications and i’ve only ever held nonprofit internship positions and experience as a research assistant. I do have some experience in research/admin from clubs at school too. I’m really trying to sell myself in the applications and i spend time tailoring the work experiences/SOQs to the jd but i’m still really freaked out about getting hired. My parents haven’t been in the job market for decades and my other friends are all private sector so I don’t really feel like anyone around me understands this process and I can talk to. Does anyone have any advice or words to sooth my soul lol?

I just realized that I was supposed to take the exam before applying for Analyst I positions, I had assumed I would be invited to complete it after I had applied to positions because i misunderstood the inductions. I submitted an application today for a position I am really interested in, do you think it’s okay if I take the exam really soon as in sunday or monday? I heard the exam results are added right away is this true? I sent an email regarding this confusion as well. I’m a little scared.

I’m just graduating with my masters and really want to go to into civil service, I think Analyst I is closest to my experience level and there seems to be a decent amount of positions open (though most are only hiring one candidate). I’m just curious if anyone knows roughly how many people apply for these positions? I’m considering just applying for as many as I can in the next month and just keep checking as they’re posted but this is of course reliant on me doing really well on the exam lol.

So i’m kind of a mess career-wise. I’m 22F and i’m finishing a masters at a european university but i’m an American. My area of study is within econ but it’s more policy/theory than tactical so I don’t have a ton of coding skills though i’ve taken classes on it. I really wanted to work in civil service most of my life but now i’m terrified due the recent job market that I just won’t be able to get anything. I tend to do really well in academic competitions but when i compete for jobs… it’s a different story. I’m wondering if I should start looking into getting training in something that’s more likely to lead to a career? For example something in healthcare like radiology tech or ultra-sound tech. My original plan was to spend a few years working and then decide if i want to go to law school or maybe get a PHD and become a professor but i’m just so scared of the current climate that i’m not sure if i’ll be able to find a job in anything related to civil service or NGOs because of budget cuts and hiring freezes.

For clarification when I was originally deciding on my major i was considering doing nursing and going into something like obgyn nursing but I decided to go into econ/politics because i was just more passionate about that and more hopeful about job prospects 5 years ago lol.

I’m moving back home from Europe at the end of summer and I would really like to find some other motogp fans here! I’m not sure if there’s already a community of fans in the area or not but i’d like to get involved if there is.
