Rented an apartment, found a cashmere Chanel sweater hidden on top of the wardrobe… Is it worth anything?

I had one of the weirdest things happen today.
I recently rented an apartment and decided to do a deep clean before settling in. I’m pretty tall, so I looked on top of the wardrobe to wipe off the dust, and I noticed something stuffed all the way in the back.
At first I thought it was just an old piece of clothing someone had forgotten, but when I pulled it out I immediately recognized the Chanel label. I checked the tags more carefully and it appears to be a new collection sweater made from 98% cashmere.
I buy and resell clothing, so I instantly knew this wasn’t some random fast-fashion sweater, but I don’t really deal with modern Chanel knitwear, so I have no idea what something like this is worth or how desirable it is.
The sweater looks barely worn, and I’m honestly surprised someone would leave something like this behind in a rental apartment.
If it’s authentic, what kind of value could it have? Is there anything specific I should check before getting it authenticated? I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I found it while cleaning. 😅
