Why training fitness in Project Zomboid takes more time than irl? Also small rant about body sizes
It takes almost 7 hours irl to go from level 0 to 1 by running not taking rest from exertion into consideration.
level 0 to 1 takes 1500exp, level 9 to 10 150000, by simple math it takes 600-700h of pure running to make just this step, an equivalent of running at least 10k every day for 2 years.

btw 1 day in zomboid is 90 minutes irl.
As a runner myself i'm certain that somewhat talented person could easily go from equivalent of level 0 to level 10 in less than a 1000h, In zomboid it would take 2-3k hours.
But here's the thing - "somewhat talented", most elite runners are extremely underweight by zomboid standards(and so am i) and the same people have for example very little talent for lifting weights.
Likewise larger people do much better with weights and combat in general but for zomboid Mike Tyson would be overweight.
But still 1 day in zomboid is 90 minutes so that's 2-3k hours irl translates to 3,5 to 5,5 FUCKING YEARS OF CONSTANT RUNNING NO REST NO SLEEP LESS HUMAN THAN A SPRINTER!!!!????!!!!
I think fast metabolism should increase fitness gains and slow one strength as they could translate to ectomorph and endomorph body types.
Also definitely exertion itself should give player passive fitness gains until certain thresholds, Just getting tired builds cardio.
As of right now its way easier to train strength due to protein and equipment bonus, but the grind for fitness is honestly immersion breaking.
Static grind for fitness is also boring AF even more by the fact that player needs to reequip their backpack every time they train, whilst just jogging is just far more pleasant thing to do.
Indie Stone please fix fitness gains.
