Help for a first time DM

Hey team, I'm gonna be running my first game of wrath and glory soon, I'm gonna run one of the premade adventures and wanted to know which one would be the best, it's the first time playing W&G for the entire group but it is not our first role playing game, any tips for a first time DM are also greatly appreciated.

Cover & Shooting Through Cover

Greetings friends!

So, im a little confused on cover rules in Wrath & Glory. I know that nearly half cover gives +1 to DEFENSE and half and above give +2 to DEFENSE. But what about if someone is FULLY behind a object like a full wall? Is that considered +2 to DEFENSE or can you just not hit them?

Then when it comes to the ranged attack option called SHOOT THROUGH COVER it says that certain weapons can just go through cover however they make no indication of what guns can do this? But in this case if you can see the creature you'd ignore the DEFENSE bonus and add the cover based off the material to the creatures RESILIENCE instead. In addition to my earlier question, what decides when you can SHOOT THROUGH COVER vs normal shooting at cover? Dont worry about the response being long or detailed i want to fully understand so I can better GM for my group!

Thank you!

Stats and Ideas

My group is fairly new to Wrath and Glory, and I typically only short very loose games when I run them (we have a primary DM and I mostly just run so he can play occasionally) but I had an idea for a pseudo horror game where the party runs into a ship, maybe derelict, maybe a space hulk, that ends up being infested with a small hive of Tyranids and Replicators from Stargate that have formed a symbiotic relationship. Basically the Tyranids eat everything organic, and the Replicators eat everything inorganic.

How would you stat a Replicator? I was probably going to start off looking at skiitari, but their adaptability would be hard to convey also.

Simplified damage options

Good day everyone,

My group is transitioning to test out W&G after a long campaign of Soulbound. Now obviously W&G is a bit more mechanically crunchy but the overall approach of dice pools and such scratches the appropriate itch.

What I was wondering about was if anyone had attempted / looked at simplified damage calculation? My understanding is that on an attack the following occurs:

Wpn dmg + roll for ED (including shifts) + strength if it is melee.

Has anyone removed the ED roll and just added the ED number as standard extra damage for example? I realize it reduces some of the granularity and risk of wrath effects and such. But overall it does reduce the number of rolls - similar to Soulbounds set Dmg + successes for example.

Am I crazy?
