Delay on Hood teamup spooky rectangle (void veil)

Hi all! I have not seen this noted yet but when i am on dagger, switch to cloak to throw out a spooky rectangle, then back to dagger, which I have done literally 20,000 times, I noticed that when I have the Hood teamup on, the spooky rectangle does not come out with normal timing. I need to wait an extra half second before launching it.

I noticed this because without teamup, I switch, blind, switch back and I have that timing so automatic in my mind. I do it with the Hood teamup on and now I end up switching to Cloak, pressing blind button, it doing nothing, switching back to dagger... The timing must be miniscule and not actually half a second but I definitely notice it! Nothing in patch notes or forums on it but it is throwing off my gameplay.

Anyone notice this?

Posting one tip a day. Day #100

INSANE CLOAK's FINAL TIP #100: "Precast" more.

When you have an ally (especially DPS) that is peaking or out of position getting an angle like Hela/widow, you should be dagger healing even when nothing is happening. Reacting to an ally like this getting 2 tapped is way too late. You can save your DPS so often by doing this. Drop your accuracy % a bit and get in the habit of precasting.

When your tanks get pressed and your healer needs help with them, be in that position when you can pivot.

I like to play both lanes and be close to tanks at normal midrange so I can walk up, spooky rectangle enemies at an angle then back up to healing. I take it as a death myself if I let a DPS die that I could have saved just by not being greedy on the tank heal dumping. Trust your other healer to do their job.

-INSANE CLOAK

P.S: This will be my last tip. I will put together a post with all 100 in one and post following this one just because everyone keeps asking me for them.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and great conversations we had on C&D's kit and gameplay! Remember to have FUN playing C&D. Go into QPs and put yourself in bad spots and experiment with your abilities.

Posting one tip a day. Day #99

#99: Spooky rectangle coming out of fade and spooky rectangle as you are going into ult. I do these so much I would say for fade 75% of the time and ult 90% of the time.

-INSANE CLOAK.

P.S. Update on comp: Top 1000 solo queuing as cloak and rank 1 cloak on tracker rn if that matters!

Posting one tip a day. Day #98

#98: I am going to reiterate something that is too important not to.

YOU ARE NOT A HEALER. Half of you is a scary guy that can do insane burst damage.

You NEED to spooky rectangle more and double rinse more (spooky rectangle, fade to mid height and spooky rectangle again).

I do not care about healing numbers. Keep your team alive and stop left clicking as dagger when everyone is 100% HP and you have a racoon dumping heals too. You are doing nothing. Help with the aggression and give your DPS the edge.

Posting one tip a day. Day #97

#97: When you are in a battle and you are next to ult, use the luna team up and then chill out, look around and pick the smartest direction, then use your ult WHILE YOU ARE STILL IN THE ICE. You will not die to anyone camping you because your hp will be topped up by the teamup.

Point is, you do not need to wait for ice to break to use your ult and this is certain to prevent the "ITS US AGAI-" we have all heard.

Posting one tip a day. Day #96

#96: When you are respawning and you need to dump heals to the point to keep rest of team alive. You can fade and get as high as you can to get a good line, switch to dagger and throw your healing dome at your team. When you land, as usual, find that angle and dump in regular heals.

I spectate a low rank cloak and dagger yesterday and saw that they didn't heal at all when they had the angle and position to do this.

#95: Walk into a fully spidered up Penni nest and use your luna team up and watch all the spiders die against you. Nest is cleaned up and your team can push.

Posting one tip a day. Day #94.5

#94.5: Learning new "tech", non-typical moves, or rare situational responses and having the experience to know WHEN and HOW to use them is what separates a really great Cloak and Dagger to a Godly one that makes people's jaw drop.

Put a fuck ton of tools in your toolbelt and put in the TIME to master them all.

Posting one tip a day. Day #94

#94: I am going to get hate for this one but I am going to explain it anyways and hopefully good cloak and daggers will understand me. Note in advance that this is situational but doing things not by the book is so often high value. Especially in eternity+ when many players are by the book in terms of general positioning and strategy.

I do this move all the time even before the luna team up but now this just enhances it. I refer to it as the *"double rinse".*

So here's what you do.

Walk into line of fire of enemy team right past your tanks. Usually take a bit of a side angle. Enemy team will laugh and be like omg what a dumb cloak. They instinctively fire at you for being out of position. You then luna team up. When ice breaks you spooky rectangle, fade back behind tanks while getting elevation during fade and spooky rectangle again. Then switch to dagger and left click. You have your bubble hot to save yourself and tanks if enemy presses.

The point of this is the spooky ractangle, fade and immediately spooky rectangle again. I have been doing this for ao long but now only am conscious of it when I am thinking about these tips I write.

I think I am going to link a video for this one so you can better understand the positioning. I will paste link here later today as an edit.

Posting one tip a day. Day #93

#93: (36) Stop caring about your average healing number or heal number in a game!

I had one of my best games yesterday when I stood on cart whole time and let my Loki ult 4 times in a row before I did once. I think I had 8k healing whole game and he had 24k. I would rather make a clutch save on a flying DPS with 300 healing than dump 3k into a tank that my other healer is sustaining anyways while my flyer dies. I spooky rectangle often and boost teammate kills/dmg at my own healing number's sacrifice.

ALSO, average healing per game is MUCH higher at higher ranks. I remember how it is in gold and diamond when team doesn't group up and are way harder to heal. In higher ranks, team is more often grouped and coordinated and my healing is naturally way higher.

PLEASE IGNORE YOUR HEALING NUMBER AND FOCUS ON THE WIN

Posting one tip a day. Day #92

#92: When you need to use your fade as soon as cooldown allows, when you are surviving with dagger, with 2 seconds on cooldown left, switch to cloak and HOLD THE FADE BUTTON before the cooldown is over. You will fade instantly.

Note that this also works for cloak ult. When you want to fade a mag dunk at first possible moment, hold the ult button down during your last dash.

Posting one tip a day. Day #91

#91: YOUR SPOOKY RECTANGLE IS CRITICAL ON SWINGING A FIGHT.

As C&D, you are the perfect balance between group sustain and BURST offense. I am almost always sustaining and only when optimal, I am playing an angle and spooky rectangling enemy team. (You do this when you see an enemy healet cooldown go off. Lamps, c&d bubble, etc.)

You should almost never have 2 spooky rectangle / light rectangle charges hot (unless way out of combat or respawning) as C&D or you are throwing.

P.S. I must have met 20 redditors that said hi to me kn QPs last week. Thank you!!! You make me try harder when I know you guys are in my games.

Posting one tip a day. Day #90

#90: YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR ULT UNTIL YOU HAVE IT.

I had this bad habit of being in a good position with about 95% ult and then instead of staying where I was and sustaining my team, I would walk forward or into a bad position in anticipation of using my ult to counter, but soooo often, instead, enemy says "oh wow look a this juicy C&D out of position" and ults you and you have 98% now and can't counter.

SO, advice is to ALWAYS wait that extra 7 seconds to GET YOUR ULT FIRST before moving into pre-ult position as mentioned a couple tips ago.

Posting one tip a day. Day#89

#89: When your ult is hot, get in the habit of lining up your team in front of you and being close enough to hit all of them with your first dash of your ult. If you are two dashes behind them, they are dead from many possible enemy ults or ult combos. Of course have your line planned to push to enemy healers, the point or to shake mag ult.

Remember to call who is ulting first so you don't double!

Posting one tip a day. Day #88

#88: Use the new frozen teamup to hodor (hold a doorway) on choke points and for jumping on strange portal for block.

I also have been using the teamup to take space because of what I call the "hulk shrinking phenomenon". Pretty much when you see hulk turning to Bruce Banner, what happens? Every enemy stops and is thirsty to dps and kill him when he's done changing.

This same concept applies to frozen teamup. When I step up between enemy tanks and healers and use it, enemy team gets distracted and everyone turns to me to kill as soon as ice breaks. BUT of course I fade out and spooky rectangle enemies. This is a great great way to swing a fight.

Posting one tip a day. Day #87

#87. When you get jumped by a dive, there are two scenarios. 1. Either you are alone (respawning or staggered or QP) and out of LOS from team or 2. more commonly, you are healing under pressure team when you get dove.

  1. It goes, spooky rectangle them on the way in and hold left click as cloak. Switch to dagger when 75% hp and left click at close range while jumping and strafing. Then snap bubble ground at 25% hp and top up to over 50% then back to cloak and spooky rectangle and dps for 5 seconds. Back to dagger and hold left click. When 50% hp again you FADE UP and spooky range down and dps as you drop, before you even hit ground you should be dagger and then freeze team up. After max time in frozen state you back to left clicking. Bubble back up and repeat.

  2. Ping diver. Walk towards your team while healing them. Bubble yourself if needed while healing team. When 30% low you fade towards team and heal them when you come out of it. Then you frozen teamup to save yourself at low hp. And turn and ping them again while you are chilling for 3 seconds.

Notice how you never left click or dps the diver in scenario 2.

Posting one tip a day. Day #85

#85: Pick a skin that you love and never change it. You get used to the sounds of your last few healing shots, the sound of your switch between dagger / cloak, heals connecting etc. Also seeing yourself in different states from cc's and picking up on subtle visual ques.

This is one that you can sacrifice for fun by switching between skins of course and it makes little difference but I really got used to one skin then I changed it and started playing worse and missing my timings etc... maybe it's just a me thing but I think there is an advantage to always keeping same skin.

Posting one tip a day. Day #84.

#84: Get in the habit of re-evaluating your general positioning and taking note where all 5 allies are every time you reload.

You should pretty much always know where your team mates are but when I reload, I like to look around and ask myself, "is this the best possible place for me to be positioned right now?" And "am i in the best place to track all 5 of them and save them if they get dove or 2 tapped?"

Force yourself to treat almost every reload as a time to reflect on yourself and your team positioning.
