Super niche issue; Mic will just stop working when not in a discord call with people whenever I open a game with voip
Okay so the title highlights just how niche this problem is and I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure it out and with googles dogwater "ai" and other "help" from whatever sources google has put infront of me nothing works.
here's a more cohesive breakdown;
For whatever reason any time i try to play a game whenever I'm not in a discord call, I can be muted and defaned, my mic will just stop taking input. Wholesale. It works fine in menus of games, but the moment I use anything with voip, complete shutdown of input, every program registers no input. Even after closing the game in question.
The device is still there in windows sound settings and everything. no issues detected when troubleshooting, by all means the device is still there and working.
If i unplug and replug it in it works fine again, if i restart windows audio services it works fine.
I've tried every bit of software advice, turned off exclusive control, everything, nothing works to fix it and as you can imagine having to restart my audio every time i swap a server or round in a game or reach under my desk and fuck with USB ports just isn't feesable nor should I really be doing it in the first place.
Honestly if anyone has anything they can provide help about this I'll take it.
The mic I use is an Antlion USB Modmic.
Edit: slight addition to information.
