The problem with narators doing other books.
I just started a new book, "Time-Marked Warlock, Book 1 of the Chronos Chronicles".
Adair Finch is the MC, Annie Ellicott is the narrator.
All good.
Until it's Adair's turn to speak and it's Carl... The voice is a little off. But if you're 3/4 through book 8, it's 100% Carl.
It's going to take a chapter or 3 before I can get used to Carl without Donut.
I'm only 13 minutes in but sofar I'd recommend it to any DCC fan that also likes high fantasy (witches/warlocks etc). It'll help the long wait for book 9. Especially as Jeff ages and female voices get harder and harder. I find with the exception of early Jeff I'm preferring dual m/f narrators. R.C. Bray, and Ray Porter are excellent. But neither even try to do a realistic female.
