April Security Patch for motorola Signature
Got it today, just sharing it out there.
I'll hold off on installing it for some time, to ensure no issues are there in this release.
motorola seems to be following atleast a bimonthly cadence for this device, with patches being 1.5 months late.
The phone launched with Jan security patch, got the March one late April, and the April one is being pushed right now, in late May.

Does anyone have custom roms for this model anymore? AFH has been down for years and I can't find a rom for it anymore.

Just incase if you live in Portland and want it today.
Shipping Update
Hello razr fold preorderers.
Just got off the phone with Motorola some minutes ago inquiring about shipping for my Razr fold preorder. The rep from Order Administration told me that my order was still in pre-order, however it was ready and just waiting to be shipped. She said tomorrow, May 21 is a likely shipping date. Hopefully tomorrow actually is, still disappointing to know a preorder didn’t get me the phone on the day of launch. Regardless, looking forward to getting the device!

PIP app position disappearing off screen can't get apps back on screen
First it happened with my Kick app, and now it's happened to Twitch. YouTube is probably next... Disabling and reenabling picture in picture for the app doesn't work, deleting cache and data for the app also doesn't fix it.
When picture in picture should start the app slides off to the right side of the screen, but swiping from that side of the screen doesn't bring it back.
Using a Motorola Edge 2025 up-to-date with Android 16, anyone know a fix?
Razr Fold: let's discover cases
With a new phone model, the next step is finding the right case. When it's a niche model like the Razr Fold, the pickings may be a lot slimmer than for a more mass market phone. Right now, this is all I can find (speaking of slim):
https://thinborne.com/collections/motorola-razr-fold-case
It's pricey! I like that it's got Magsafe built in. But no "garage" for the stylus.
Let's build this thread as we discover cases. Please add comments about their respective features. (And links to manufacturer and sellers.)
Shipping status on Razr Fold pre-orders is still a black box
By "black box" I mean that a system process has a step and what happens inside that step is opaque-- unaccessible-- to anyone outside the process.
I called order management at Motorola. +1 (866) 282-7387
I asked about the general situation and offered them my order number. I'm sorry to stay that I learned nothing enlightening about what to expect for delivery dates. I did ask the rep to put a note in the system suggesting that it would be very helpful to all of us who pre-ordered: start generating shipping labels so that we all have tracking numbers. The rep agreed to enter that note. It's anyone's guess whether that will make a difference. But I figure the company will take notice if everyone starts calling the company and asking for the shipping status for their phones. Maybe that will make things move?
Feel free to post whether you made that call and whether it yields any more info.

Update cycle question, concern
Really fired up for my incoming razr fold. Rocking a Z fold 7 now (really enjoy it) and the only thing that gives me pause about the Razr is the security and OS update cadence. Anyone have visibility on that? What should we expect-- every month, every other month?
Haven't had a Moto in a long time.
Thanks in advance.
Pre-order $500 bonus not showing in checkout
I was trying to pre-order the Razr Fold, but for some reason the trade in bonus is not showing in checkout but showing when I initially put in the trade in details. Anyone else running into this?
Best launcher for Razr Fold?...
I've no idea 😅
Overlapping groups for Motorola Razr Fold
I see so many overlapping posts for those of us discussing the Motorola Razr Fold in the following groups:
- r/razr
- r/motorola
- r/razrfold
- r/MotorolaFold
- r/motorolarazrfold
Is there a way to consolidate and/or agree on the primary group for this device?
Motorola's support is terrible. I still don't have Android 16 on my Moto G55.
I was using a Moto G55 that I bought last year, but my brother gave me a Poco Phone M7 Pro 5G. It has the same hardware, although the Moto is the 8GB/256GB version and the Poco is the 12GB/512GB version.
I use the Poco as my main phone and the other one as a secondary phone. The Poco was updated to Android 16 some time ago. But the Moto hasn't received it. When I turn it on, it always updates to some minor update, but there's no sign of Android 16.
On the other hand, I see on the forum that some people have received the Android 16 update on their Moto G35 without having to go through Android 15 first, which was much needed.
Another huge flaw is the update policy, forcing you to go through all the minor updates instead of updating directly to the latest version like it does on other phones.
I have, or have had, some Vivo phones at home that started with Android 11 and unexpectedly ended up with Android 14. I also have an Honor X8A tablet that no one expected anything from Honor. Well, it updated directly to Honor Magic 10 with Android 16. A tablet that cost me €87 on AliExpress.
With Motorola, nothing. I also have two Moto G04s that will never update to Android 15. But if you buy the following year's model, they do have the new version of Android.
Why am I complaining? I've had legendary phones in the past like the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, and Motorola's update policies were a real burden. While a Samsung from that era would update to two new versions, Motorola, if you were lucky, would only update to one version, and even then, it was late. This meant that even with working phones, I had to install custom ROMs to keep using YouTube, Chrome, and those kinds of apps that now required at least Android 9.
When people say your phone is obsolete because that Android version is from a specific year, that's false. That date applies to Google Pixel phones. Your phone didn't get that version until much later. However, the end of app support starts from the release date of that version, and if your phone updates two years later, you've lost two years of app support.
At this rate, Android 17 will be released, and Motorola will still not release Android 16 for most of its phones.
Dead pixels around camera "cutout"?
I have a 2025 Razr Ultra and I noticed this...irregularity around the front camera, I guess? It's not a perfect circle, it's just that area towards the center-left-ish that looks like that. I can't tell if this is some dead pixels around there or if it's a software issue. Running Android 16
After a few weeks with the Motorola Signature (16GB/512GB)
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a comprehensive list of bugs, performance quirks, and some feature requests I've put together after using my Motorola Signature (16GB/512GB model) over the past few weeks. Hoping to see if others are experiencing the same things, and throwing this out there in case anyone from Moto keeps an eye on the subreddit!
Bugs & Optimization Issues
Inconsistent Quick Tile Actions (Motorola Style Drawer): When using the Motorola-style notification layout, simple taps on the quick tiles are incredibly erratic. Instead of toggling the feature on/off (like quickly switching Wi-Fi), a normal tap frequently forces the phone open directly into the deep settings menu. I want it to toggle, not redirect me every single time.
Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner Inconsistency: It's not a total dealbreaker, but it definitely acts up. I'd rate it about an 8 out of 10 for accuracy. For a premium ultrasonic sensor, it shouldn't feel like a hit-or-miss game as often as it does.
Un-disabling Dolby Atmos on Speaker: This one is just plain annoying. When using the primary phone speakers, you are completely blocked from turning Dolby Atmos off. The toggle is locked out. There absolutely needs to be a universal option to disable this processing whenever we want, regardless of whether earphones are plugged in.
App Drawer Search Bar Misalignment: Occasionally, when swiping up from the home screen into the app drawer, the bottom search bar visually glitches. It jumps up slightly higher than its intended position, causing a strange, jarring screen alignment defect.
Idling Battery Drop from 100%: The battery optimization at full charge is rough. The very second I unplug the phone at 100%, it immediately begins ticking down to 99% and 98% within moments—completely on idle, without a single heavy app running.
Broken Third-Party Volume & Type-C Audio Support: Third-party audio applications like Poweramp are experiencing broken volume implementation. Furthermore, type-C earphone compatibility is seriously lacking. I use the Samsung AKG Type-C (IC100) earphones, and they have massive compatibility issues on this device. Motorola really needs to extend better support to third-party Type-C DAC audio accessories.
Lagging Software Updates: We are well into the middle of May now, and this device is still stuck sitting on the March security patch. For a device of this caliber, the update cadence needs to be sharper.
Feature Requests:
Native AI Key Remapping: Motorola needs to give us complete native control over the physical AI Key. Right now, I'm forced to use a third-party key-mapping app just to use it as a physical switch to toggle the flashlight. We should have a deep, built-in setting in Moto/Android to remap this hardware button to basic system utilities or any application of our choice.
Proper Quick Tile Gestures: Moto needs to standardize the interaction model. A simple tap should exclusively toggle a feature on or off. A press-and-hold should be the only gesture that launches you into the full settings menu.
App Restrictions within Modes: When customizing specific modes (like Sleep Mode or Work Mode), we should have a built-in feature to whitelist or blacklist specific applications. If I'm in Work Mode, I want the ability to explicitly lock or disable distracting apps so they can't be used at all until the mode changes.
Are any other Signature owners running into these can't-remap hardware restrictions, or noticing the same software and audio quirks? Let me know if you've found any stable workarounds!
