Dear moto fam,

I just got myself a moto edge 60 PRO today. The phone is all fine, but sadly, I got the 8GB variant, because the deal on this was great while a similar discount wasn't available on the 12/16 GB variants.

The device is currently running on Android 15, and with a security patch of August 1, 2025. My main requirement is to be able to keep as many apps safely in the background without losing any progress. For this very reason, I have set the RAM Boost to 16 GB(8GB+16GB), but I don't think it's able to reliably keep more than 3-4 apps in the background.

I think I can keep 1 or 2 more apps in the background if I disable all the moto's own apps such as AI, gestures etc as they're of no use to me.

And also, is it wise to upgrade my device to Android 16 or 17 considering my requirements? Can someone with a 8GB edge 60 PRO share their experiences regarding keeping apps in the background and about Android 16, 17 OS upgrades?

The fact that the base variant comes with 8GB while the top most variant comes with a whopping 16GB makes the user experiences very diverse. So, I would like to mainly know about the experiences of 8GB edge 60 PRO users.

Guys, I am looking for a PG near Gothapatna. Any PG for men within a radius of 6-7 km is fine.

Requirements:

1. Air conditioning, if the room isn't ventilated. If the room is well ventilated, non AC is also fine.

2. Wi-Fi facility is optional.

3. I can't say anything about my budget because I don't have even a rough idea about what price fetches which type of service.

Please also suggest what I should be looking for/checking before occupying a PG.

It's really frustrating when you are driving slowly on the left lane of the two lane one-way road wanting to enjoy the ride and suddenly some retarded guy pops up driving head-on towards you. And this is not even limited to the roads where the U-turns aren't available nearby, people are just lazy, they just don't want to move in any other direction other than the direction of their destination. These people rather drive slowly on the wrong side for a couple of kilometres rather than going a few metres in the opposite direction to take a U-turn.

Is this culture only in some cities or is it in every city?

Nevertheless, I love to ragebait them by willingly squeezing their available space, forcing them to further slow down. Some even turn their heads after we cross each other and show a red-eye. 🙃

I hope everyone is aware of the fact that some apps restrict taking screenshots like Banking apps, payment apps and etc. I understand that it's being done for safety but sometimes we do need to take screenshots for record/proof/evidence. Many a times, the very banks ask for screenshot proofs that they had already blocked.

I have heard from my iOS friend that taking screenshots of such apps is blocked by default but there exists an option to override them and enable the ability to take screenshots.

Does such an option exist on Android? Or is there any workaround to get our work done?

As an Android user, I am so frustrated that I am not able to keep apps running in the background. I don't mean about the RAM optimisation that closes the unused apps to free the RAM for new apps.

On Android, when an app is minimised, the app gets to know that it got minimised and also, it pauses itself until it's brought into foreground again. Otoh, on Windows or on any other desktop Linux distro, the apps keeps running in the background in the same way as they would if they had been in the foreground.

I have somewhat of ADHD and I tend to do things as soon as I remember them otherwise I forget them. But since Android pauses the current app, I am forced not to minimise the current task and hence, I tend to forget the small task I suddenly remember in between.

Is there any way to achieve this on Android?
