Maybe the overtime wasn’t worth it.

Considering a job within bus driving

Hi there to all,

I currently work as a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco driving their vans and delivering etc, however i’m looking for a change in career and my eyes dart this way.

I’ve always had an interest in operating bigger vehicles such as a 14ft double decker bus and or a single decker bus.

Main question, Is it worth becoming a bus driver? I’m aware each company offers its own perks and benefits however I’d just like to know overall if you (as drivers) are happy with the work that you do, would you recommend it for others? (such as my self)

Also i’m in London so ideally if I was to go ahead with the job switch what company is more ideal in regards to pay after training and benefits?

Thanks!

Fuel Sensor Issue?

Hi there all,

Unsure if I’ve got some sensor issue relating to my fuel sensors or something however,

I went to full tank my vehicle (2021 Tiguan R-Line) for the first time after ownership of it and it took 54L, i expected high millage for that however upon starting the vehicle i only got 300 miles.

I’ve reset the trip and as if writing this i’m on 97.1miles driven and estimated fuel range of 255mikes whilst being 2 bars off from a full tank.

Is this normal or should i get this checked out?

Thanks

hi there everyone, anyone else facing issues with their shift times and or booking overtime?

I’m a Customer Delivery Driver (CDD), I’ve been informed that our depo is “over budget” and therefore managers and shift leaders are unable to issue us any overtime with the excuse being “We’ve been advised we’re unable to provide anymore overtime, only via the App”

Whilst that’s being said the Overtime on the app are simply not suitable for majority of us since most of us start at 9.15 till 2.45 the overtime shift would be from 6.45pm - 11.45pm meaning we would breach our driving hours if we had work the next day.

It’s become very difficult since most of the contracts that we’ve taken only offer 27.5 hours a week which simply isn’t enough to clear bills and we all use to rely on overtime.

Spoke to the union they stated there’s nothing they can do either.

Generally might have to consider a new place of employment as bills and everything’s getting expensive.
