Lenovo Warranty Support
Recently my laptop has been facing some issues while gaming. Whenever it reaches the VRAM limit, it freezes my laptop and then crashes. I reported to Lenovo customer support, they gave me a tool to record temperatures. I did all of the things they asked but since the tool doesn't utilise the GPU 100%, the error doesn't occur. I tested it OCCT and sure enough, my laptop freezes and gets a BSOD (DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR). This started to occur after my laptop's fan module was replaced by them. I read somewhere that the fan might not be making proper contact with the GPU/CPU, and I think it damaged the GPU when it was getting too hot. I later re-pasted the fan module (the technician didn't even bother repasting). But I fear the damage is already done.
They are saying "After a thorough examination of the reported issue and along with the test results, we would like to inform you that we have not identified abnormal heating issues with the system.
We would like to inform you that the notebooks naturally produce heat during operation because of their internal components and energy consumption."
I gave them screenshots of the error I got with OCCT but since it is an unofficial app, they don't care about those results.
Should I wait till something really bad happens with my laptop (like my GPU dies) so I can show them the proof or just give up with this and forget about this laptop for gaming?
Laptop is Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming-3 15IHU6 RTX3050 i5 11320H.
I have 11 months of warranty remaining.
