This rug is a gift I’m making for my cousin. I finished it this afternoon and applied the glue; over the next few days I’ll glue on the non-slip felt backing and start carving it, my favorite part, even though it makes me a bit obsessive: so far, if even a few tufts aren’t perfectly in place, I can’t stop trimming them with scissors 🤣

Hi everyone, I need some advice about stitch density on the back of the rug when using wool yarn. I’ve noticed that with acrylic, the tighter and more concentrated the stitches, the better the result.

I tried making a rug and had a lot of difficulty carving/cutting the wool.

I’ll listen very attentively to any advice you can give me.

It’s been a long road, almost a year to get all the equipment together, build my own modular frame, find a reliable wool supplier. While I was waiting for this little dream to come true, I watched countless tutorials and videos of you aliens who make everything look so easy and fast — damn you all!! 😄

It wasn’t easy, especially since I have two little kids 2 years old and almost 2 months for the second plus work, family commitments, my partner… finding time to dedicate to tufting was tough.

I often ended up tufting at 2 or 3 in the morning, when the house was completely quiet and the kids were asleep, only to head to work early the next day.

It was intense and beautiful, and honestly I can’t wait to make more. I think it came out decently, but there’s still so much to learn. The only downside was a local glue supplier who passed off vinyl (PVA) glue as tufting glue on me… disgraceful, honestly — I had some trouble getting the non-slip felt to stick because of it. Anyway, I’ll let you all take it from here.

Ciao a tutti, volevo condividere con voi alcuni scatti del mio primo lavoro ancora da terminare.
Spero che questo tappeto non risulti banale, visto e rivisto centinaia di volte. La scelta è ricaduta su questo tappeto per 3 motivi:
Disponibilità di colori
Per un disegno relativamente semplice
Per gusto personale .
Devo dire che ho trovato difficoltà a seguire i contorni soprattutto quelli obliqui o rotondi.
Pensavo fosse più semplice del dovuto.. mi sbagliavo..
Anche riempire linee diritte ho fatto fatica. Ho faticato tanto e in più vi chiedo un consiglio, avendo una pistola da tufting AK-V che velocità mi consigliate fare i contorni e per riempire?
Ovviamente tutti consigli e critiche sono ben accette.

Questa foto risale al 2019 dove ho avuto la fortuna di vivere in questa metropoli fantastica, peccato sia stata un’esperienza breve a causa del covid19, e varie problematiche familiari collegate alla pandemia ha no fatto si che la mia permanenza sia stata di solo un anno..
È una città che porterò sempre nel mio cuore.
Scattai questa foto in una mattinata dove mi svegliai per bere un sorso d’acqua e dalla mia cameretta di Canada Water vedo questa meraviglia e senza pensarci 2 volta, prendo la mia fotocamera reflex e scatto una delle immagini, più belle che mi porto dentro, perché quella finestra, quella visuale era il mio mondo e ci tenevo a condividerla con voi.

Una mio carissimo amica si sta aprendo un salone da parrucchiere e vorrei fargli come regalo un tappeto, ma in pratica sarebbe il mio primo tappeto, quanto difficile sarebbe realizzare queste scritte? Non so se sono troppo sottili?!?
