Dash into spinning kick/running clothesline.

Found this out messing around. Not sure if everyone knows about this already.

Right after a dash, you can chain into a running clothesline or a spinning kick. Can be helpful for doing these moves without a running start.

Also noticed that you can do the clothesline outside of combat. Making it look like you slipped on something 😆

PA making updates for wagon enjoyers.

My fellow wagon enjoyers rejoice! Not sure if this is a taste of things to come, and PA will make some more improvements to wagons and trading, but I'm pretty stoked that they added this one.

I just noticed that they improved one of the routes I had been using for trading from Pailune to Hernand, after doing the last camp upgrade/move. I'm pretty sure this came in on the 1.12 update, because I don't remember this route looking like this before then, and trust me, I've used it quite a few times prior to the improvement. So I remember quite well how it looked before. It used to just be a rocky path with lots of bushes. Before, it didn't even look like you could go through, much less an actual road. It's now turned into a very nice, wagon friendly road for us to use. Although they updated the road on the mini map, you can see from the map markers I was using before that they didn't update the main map with the new road yet.

I like how PA makes these little updates that don't even make it into the patch notes, but can still make a big impact to a few of us (probably the two or three of us that enjoy wagon trading 😂). To be fair, they did have a patch note about making roads better for wagons in a previous patch. So it looks like they're continuing to make changes to them.

PSA: Grocers may also have blueprints

Apparently this grocer had a blueprint. Now I need to check them all 😅

Pets now invade your home

So I guess after the new update pets now clutter up your house. I find them gathered around the door, inside the house. They used to just roam the whole camp. Not sure what they meant to do here but it was better before, I think.

Sailfish

Got another one for the pond. Now they can reproduce.

Troll behind me is jealous as hell. He kept getting behind me and crossing lines. So I kept scaring him with my Tech Hat and making him drop his pack and rod into the water. Tbf, the troll is usually fishing in that spot, so I guess I was the one in HIS usual spot 😆

What's the deal with packs?

So I can wear one field pack but not the other? Got it. Totally makes sense 😂

Also, why aren't all packs wearable? Seems like an easy fix there. So here's hoping 🤞🏼

Any other backpack enjoyers out there? Let's make some noise so PA flips the switch on all packs. Would make for some fun fashion play.

DIY guide to making dyes

Here's a quick guide to making your own dyes in case you're looking for a specific shade and can't easily find it. Except for white, black, and grey which must be found or purchased from merchants you unlock, the rest can be crafted in a cauldron.

All craftable dyes use Longhorn Beetles and Stag Beetles to control the shade of the color. With Longhorn Beetles making the color lighter and Stag Beetles making it darker. Both of these beetles are found on trees; Longhorns are out during the day, Stags are found at night. You will also need regular beetles and rhinoceros beetles for some recipes so collect those as well.

They'll be much easier to collect if you have the Kuku Insect Gatherer's Pack. Same for the herbs using the Kuku Gardening Pack.

Here's how to mix the Longhorn/Stag Beetles for the different shades:

Bright - Longhorn Beetle x3

Rich - Longhorn Beetle x2 + Stag Beetle x1

Main color - Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

Dark - Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x2

Deep - Stag Beetle x3

So basically, if you know at least one of the shades you can view the recipe in your journal and then change the number of Longhorn/Stag beetles to get all the other shades.

To make it easier for you, I'll list the recipes for the main colors so you can then mix up the beetles for the shade you want.

Red: Pink Medicinal Herb x10 + Rhinoceros Beetle x3 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(Peony, Pink Rosemary, Begonia)

Violet: Pink Medicinal Herb x10 + Lavender x10 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(Peony, Pink Rosemary, Begonia)

Purple: Lavender x15 + Blue Lavender x5 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

Blue: Blue Lavender x15 + Lavender x5 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

Sky Blue: White Medicinal Herb x 10 + Blue Lavender x 10 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(False Starwort, Snapdragon, Dendrobium Orchid, White Lavender)

Teal: Blue Lavender x10 + Shrubby Sophora x10 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

Green: Yellow Medicinal Herb x5 + Beetle x5 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(Dunbaria, Marigold, Yellow Rosemary)

Spring Green: White Medicinal Herb x10 + Beetle x3 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(False Starwort, Snapdragon, Dendrobium Orchid, White Lavender)

Yellow: Yellow Medicinal Herb x10 + Beetle x3 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(Dunbaria, Marigold, Yellow Rosemary)

Orange: Yellow Medicinal Herb x10 + Rhinoceros Beetle x3 + Longhorn Beetle x1 + Stag Beetle x1

(Dunbaria, Marigold, Yellow Rosemary)

Hope this helps you out in case you wanted to make your own dye. The materials can be a bit of a pain to get, but not too bad if you have the kuku packs and search where to find them. I'm sure most of you have already come across most of them by now.

Edit: Had to correct the purple recipe from 10 Lavender to 15

New fishing strat?

Wonder if it's possible to catch the shark this way. Let's see if anyone gets lucky with a fishing trap.

Edit: It seems fishing traps have a limitation where once you catch fish with one it won't catch anymore. Not sure if it's a hard limit, or if it just has a really long cool down, but it's faster to just teleport and respawn the trap. In case anyone else wants to try and use traps for catching rare fish.

Edit 2: Unfortunately, catching big fish with traps seems to be bugged. The fish will disappear from your back when you try to sell it or teleport with it. Maybe PA didn't intend for them to be caught with traps, or they need to fix the bug so we can actually sell/keep them.

Who needs NPCs?

Finally got the elusive shark. Took me a lot of tries over a few days, but I finally got it to spawn at the oil rig. Didn't want to use the NPC method to get the knowledge, I actually wanted to catch this thing.

Not sure how many wagon enjoyers there are out there, but I personally really enjoy driving the wagon around and playing traveling merchant, that can beat up any bandits that get in my way. It seems PA also though some of us would enjoy it since they built a lot of gameplay around it. It would be great if they made it so that wagon riding in general was much better. Please fellow enjoyers chime in with any suggestions of what would make your wagon riding adventures much more enjoyable. Here are some of my personal suggestions:

- Make it so wagons can hold more than just packaged trade goods. I see some people have had the idea of using wagons to carry multiple bounties, or even livestock. Maybe giving us the option of building different wagon types would help with that.

- Give us the option to customize wagons. Maybe even add missions/legendary animals that give us unique things we can place/display on our wagons. Also, it might be good to let us change the horses. Being able to tame horses and use them to haul our wagons would be great I think.

- Update NPC AI to not look at me like a mass murderer just because I'm driving a wagon near them. I exclusively drive using first person view (trust me, it makes wagon driving much easier), and it's much more noticeable to see them looking at me like I'm a maniac 😆 Sure, I know I've hit quite a few of them, but that's because they're always in the middle of the road loitering, or just move right into my path. Also, why am I always running over 4-5 critters every time I veer half a foot off the road. I've become a partridge serial killer by now.
