I love how RE9 proves the protagonists choices can be wrong sometimes
I don't see enough people talk about it but notice how Leon the protagonist wanted to destroy elpis because he thought it's a bad thing, not knowing it's the thing that will save him? While Zeno as the villain wanted you release elpis thinking it was a mind control power, not knowing it's the thing that removed his power? It's so ironic.
The message is so interesting because it means the protagonists are not always right, and the villain's goal is not always wrong even if their intentions is bad.
I think sometimes the protagonists can try to be more pragmatic with the way they deal with the villains, because maybe their goal ends up being a good thing and doesn't go exactly as the villain wanted, the protagonist can outsmart the villain by using their evil plan for the good side' aadvantage.
I can see current Chris doing something like that, like pretending he joins the bad guy's side only to outsmart them and use their plan for a good cause.
