"Happy birthday." Formal v. familiar

I am male. I want to wish my female friend a happy birthday. Do I say "amica mia" or "amica mio?"

She is a former colleague and we were equals. We stay in touch regularly, mostly about work issues, and we have after-work drinks every 6 weeks or so. Nothing beyond that. Is "Buon compleanno amica mia/o, divertiti!" too familiar? Too formal?

Oh My God! handles

I have many minor complaints about my 2024 HRV, which is a throroughly annoying, needlessly complicated vehicle, especially the instrument panel interface. But maybe my biggest complaint is completely low tech: No "Oh My God handles" over driver and front seat passenger doors. Why leave out something this basic?

"Set foot" versus "stepped foot"

More of a style or usage question than grammar:

I'm slightly into my 8th decade, so maybe my memory is fading or I'm just out of touch, but all my life I've said (and thought I heard others say) "Susie never SET FOOT in a church." Lately, I've noticed others saying "Susie never STEPPED FOOT in a church."
Is this something recent, or have I just become an out-of-touch old coot?

EDIT: I'm American

I want to add a half bath in a very tight space.

Does anyone have experience with combo toilet and sink units?
