Can I just throw a normal stock on my stuff now?

I’m taking my first trip to Phuket in October as a solo. I found out afterward about the festival I had seen online but didn’t remember it was in Phuket.
I’d love to go experience the spectacle the festival offers.
My questions are:
Should I find a local guide to show me all the highlights or just go and explore?
If I go myself is it all in one general area? Otherwise which are the best areas to go?

Hey y’all hope you took a nap and recovered from the entry.
I just lost my small thumb sized, bean shaped, black action camera in the premier camping area. It is colored with an eyeball on the lens and smile written on it. Lost it before I even got to use it.
