Trouble (13) has the best RBF (resting bitch face)

I've had him since I was 18 and he is the crankiest old me. He sounds like he smokes 6 packs a day and he looks at you like he wants to kill you ( when really all he wants is a cuddle)

This is my boy Meatball....

As the title says, this is Meatball. He is absolutely the most chaotic ball of dryer lint I have ever met. He had a hard start to his life, but we has made leeps and bounds since then.

His story starts in a cardboard box with his sister, Spaghetti, found on the side of the rode with no markings to tell you they were in there. Someone spotted them and brought them to the shelter, where I was promptly contacted to come pick up these approximately 4-day-old kittens. They were teeny tiny little nuggets, and they scared me at first because I lost my first baby this year, and I was scared to lose another. Well, this first night was a true struggle. Meatball aspirated everytime he would eat, so I finally figured out he has to eat vertically instead of on his belly. Once that problem was worked out, then we had massive diarrhea, and his sister started failing to thrive. This guys kept me on the ropes, and there were many tears. Things finally started to look up for our little boy, but his sister was still worry some. After many, and I mean many, trips to the clinic, we were on the right path. He was gaining weight like a champ, and his sister was also starting to turn a corner. Then, as we are starting to wean, and we got the diarrhea again, but not as bad as last time.

Well, this Saturday is where our story ends, but his beginnings. He is going on a sleepover this weekend with his new family, and while I know there's a chance he could come back, I honestly can't believe someone would actually say no to this little guy. I cried when I got the text that they found someone for him, but I am excited for this new chapter for him. He is my cuddly boy who loves to pull your face on for a kiss, and maybe a little nibble. I will miss him with my whole great, but I know there are other babies out there that need my help just like him.

I love you, Meatball, and I can't wait to have these last few days together be for you go off to your new normal. They might have you for the rest of your life, but I had you when you needed someone the most.

Tldr: I took this guy in when he was a few days old, and we struggled at first, but now he is amazing, and I have to give him away. 😭😭😭

Anyone know why my Chihuahua is a creepy?

Most of my animals walk in but not Mr. Bean he has to stand at the door way and creep. I know they like to protect while I am "vulnerable" but why stand in the door? He never walks in he watches from a far even if I say something to him. Never had a dog like this. They either walk in or they move on.

Total foster number

When you talk about your total foster number do you count the ones that only stay a couple days or less. I just picked up some kittens from the shelter but unfortunately I had to take them back the next day. They cried all night and wouldn't take to the bottle and I got nervous. Turns out they have panluk and I have an immunocompromised cat that is 13 so I can't keep them. I feel awful because I already fell in love with them and it hurts so bad to drop them off when I just got them

My question is can I concider them part of my foster total if I only had then for 24 hours? I hope I don't seem like a bad person for asking I am just curious. I really do feel awful leaving them.

First time suspected ringworm.... HELP!!!!!

Alright guys I am feeling like a bad foster mom today and I'm not sure what to do. Please no hate in the comments I am doing my best but would love some advice. ( I definitely failed her a few times and I feel horrible)

This is Amelia I have been taking care of her since she was 4 weeks old and she is an amazingly sassy cat. When I first got her I noticed a notch on the end of her tail that was very weird. I had a previous cat with the same thing and it turned out to be just a scab from getting it caught in something. She was a stray before I got her so I thought it was very possible to be the same thing so I thought nothing of it but I kept a close eye on it. It finally fell off and when I examined the tail the skin was healthy but missing hair. I took her back to the shelter for her surgery and was so excited for her to get adopted. Well they call me the next day and say because of the missing hair it could be ringworm and if she stays here she will get euthanized. Obviously I couldn't leave her there but I have also never worked with ringworm.

Here is where I feel like a truly bad foster mom. As pictured above this is what the shelter gave me to quarantine her from my other animals. The only thing is she cries all day and now I am starting to cry because I feeling like I am failing her. She is all alone and in there 24 hours a day because I have nowhere else to put her. I know I am saving her from euthanasia and it also feels like I am hurting her here too. I don't know what to do but it is honestly breaking my heart and I don't know how to socialize with her.

Please any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated because I feel like a horrible person right now.

Edit: They did do a skin scraping but it is going to take 2 weeks to get back to me.

TLDR: I took in a kitten with a scab on her tail. Scab feel off and there was no hair where it was. Took her back to the shelter for surgery and they said I had 72 hours to pick her up if they are putting her down. Now she is on a little cage all day crying and so am I. Help!!!!!!

Update: I am taking her to my personal vet and getting a skin scraping. I will be paying out of pocket because I honestly don't think this kitten has ringworm and I would rather know now then wait two weeks especially if it's nothing.

Update: WE ARE RINGWORM FREE!!!! Our vet did a rapid test and a traditional test just to make sure. He also did the light test and saw nothing. She is happily out of her enclosure and walking around the house again.

Someone hit my car while I was working

They left no note and now I have to add to my already busy day to see if I can see anything on the cameras. Apparently this is the second time THIS WEEK that this has happened to an employee. I hate people!!!!

Is she small for her age?

These are my foster babies Eve (13wks) and Spaghetti (1wk). Eve is about 3 lbs and eats everything in site. I have another foster that is 4 weeks and she is about the same size as Eve. I'm not really worried but more curious because she seems very small for her age.

How do y'all heat up syringes of cold formula?

Like for the little littles that are too small for a bottle. We have been heating up water and then sticking the syringe in but it broke one of our glasses because of constant reheating.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Puppy refuses to poop outside (7m, Chihuahua, had him since he was 4 weeks)

My Chihuahua is an amazing dog but he refuses to poop outside. He is crate trained and never has an accident in there and he will pee every time I tell him to go potty outside but pooping he won't do. He will wait until we go inside to poop. We have tired putting his poop outside, giving treats when he poops, setting boundaries in the house to make his access smaller, and if he doesn't poop when we go out he will sit in his crate for 30 mins and try again. I am not sure what to do anymore but I am tried of stepping in poop. Also the crate for 30 mins is a new thing we are trying but I hate locking him up all day. Maybe that is where I am failing.

Please any advice would help

This is my boy Elroy. He was 3 weeks when I got him. Super dehydrated, goopy eye, and covered in fleas. He was on fluids, high calorie gel, fortiflora, formula, and had eye cream. We did our best but unfortunately it just wasn't enough. He passed away this morning but all night he got skin to skin care and never knew a moment alone. My mother held him as he took his last breath and he passed peacefully.

We loved you so much Elroy and we know in our hearts that you felt that love. We know in our hearts that we did everything we could for you but it still hurts to know you are gone. We will miss you and your funky meow. Have fun across that rainbow bridge and say hi to Oreo and Chevy for me.

Pick up these little guys yesterday and was told they eat on their own. Unfortunately every time I feed them all they do is scream and don't understand what food is. The shelter isn't answering and I feel like I am doing something wrong. I have tried the finger trick and I have tried a bottle but they just wiggle away and scream. Not sure what to do as I have never had kittens that just refuse to eat before.

Do you ever introduce your fosters to each other? I have 3 four week old kittens and 2 five week old kittens. I am keeping the separated as I just got the litter of 4 week olds I just wondered if they could be mixed or just keep them separated?

Also the box is temporary while I set up their playpen for there stay.
