Has anyone have 2 separate bookings linked together work properly?

I booked a flight using some delta e credit and got a confirmation code. Then my mom booked the same exact itinerary and got a different confirmation code. I had to call since my dad had to cancel a previous ticket and I claimed the e credits. The lady on the phone said that we’d be linked together (so check in separately but our seats will be together)

The route is from YWG -> MSP -> HND

And all 4 routes we’ve been separated. Luckily from MSP -> HND I was able to ask a gate agent to put us together but tomorrow I leave back home and we’ve been separated again which is frustrating. Does delta IT suck so hard or are they deliberately punishing me for booking basic?

Oh and we both got middle seats and I got the SSSS which totally makes me not more agitated about this situation.

EDIT: I looked at the seat map and saw it was a full flight so it’s pretty obvious what might’ve separated me and my mom. (Initially assumed it was an empty flight cause msp to hnd usually has a <70% load factor)

The flight to there was <70% full and me and my mom got separated. She had to print at the gate which idk if it says much.

Are you concerned about potential overtourism?

I spent three days in Fukuoka earlier and it was a breath of fresh air compared to Osaka. I still had fun in Osaka but the crowds were driving me crazy and Fukuoka having like 1/10th was much more comfortable.

But this made me wonder if the residents are concerned of suffering from overtourism as many people (such as myself) are able to do second trips and focus on other parts of Japan. Fukuoka visitor numbers are rising so I’m wondering if this raises a concern for the residents or if you view it more optimistically.

I’m not technically done because I still need shinjuku and Ueno but I got enough stamps to make a post.

This wasn’t as daunting as I thought as you just need to be in the border of the JR ticket gates and there’s usually a large sign saying it’s a stamp. Plus just saying “Eki stamp” made it pretty clear to the JR staff what I wanted and they pointed me to the right direction.

The design is me photoshopping the JR line over google maps, and colouring it green cause I did greyscale initially and got too lazy to reprint it. Knowing this was a success I wanna do something similar for the Kansai region or Kyushu/Hokkaido. I’m curious to see how feasible it is.
