Tiled my kitchen and the raw edge of the tiles looked awful. Had to figure out the right shade of porcelain paint from 4-5 options then apply it without getting any on the grout.
All the edge painting served me well. I don't have to feel guilty about a whole day working on a book nook anymore - it's training!

I've never been great at getting light & shadows right so I was chuffed at how these turned out!
The single bell pepper, cauliflower, and the ribcage are my favourites
I was putting up shelves today and found wires in the two holes I drilled. I was expecting brick but turns out there used to be a hatch through the wall that's been sealed up, and I was actually drilling through the horizontal stud at the top of the hollow section. There seems to be a wire (potentially 2) running along the stud.
I did use a stud finder before drilling which didn't flag any wires/pipes. They're not in line with any plug sockets or anything on either side of the wall. Nothing tripped and there's been no burning smell or anything.
My current thinking is that it's an old wire that's not in use anymore, maybe from lights at the top of the hatch? I've ordered a non-contact voltage tester, if that confirms that it's not live am I ok to just fill the holes and leave them?
Over the last couple years I seem to have lost most of my confidence and small talk skills. Never been particularly charismatic but I could mingle in a room full of strangers and come across as chatty and reasonably easy to talk to.
