I've been reading a lot of science fiction lately and I've noticed a lot of (usually male) authors just have the habit of all male all straight all cis casts. I was somewhat used to the idea when I was younger. After reading The Protectorate series by Megan e O'keefe and The Axiom series by Tim Pratt, it was strange going back to a more typical(boring) cast in Michael Cobley's Humanity's Fire series. Anyone have any good sci-fi recommendations with more diverse casts? I figured this would be a safe space to ask because more mainstream subreddits are possibly hostile to the view that a homogeneous cast is boring for some reason.

I have played and loved Pathfinder Wotr, BG3, Warhammer Rogue Trader. I tried but I didn't like DOS2. I also tried BG 1 but found the RTwP gameplay frustrating(I usually play as a ranged spell caster). I play on PC if that helps.
