1560 dining dollars vs block 140

honestly, i don't see the point in buying the block 140 if you can also buy dining hall meals for I think $8 dining dollars someone said. Also, the meal swipes for block 140 don't carry over to the next semester but the dining dollars do, so if you have the basic plan, everything you don't spend carries over. Is there a catch i'm missing?

Im an upcoming freshman engineering student on the AERO track and it says for the Universal Core curriculum credits that I need 3 credit hours from social and behavioral sciences. I took Ap human geography as a junior and passed it so I can claim those credit hours. AP human geo is equivalent to geog 201 while AP Macroeconomics is equivalent to econ 203 (both are 3 credit hours). If i claim ap human geo, does that make macro useless because both classes are in social and behavior sciences?
