Soldering tools: a piece of glass

Soldering tools: a piece of glass

I started a job where everyone has a piece of glass that we lay masking tape and clear tape down and cut pieces to hold wires down while soldering, typically 36 gauge and smaller. I thought it was pretty cool and something I'm going to add to my home workstation. I also cut little pieces of masking tape to prevent bridging on the tiny pads I have to solder

What is voting like in your country?

Hi everyone, I'm an American who's trying to be more politically active and it seems like having a second job. I have a hypothesis that voting here is overly complicated (this is my motive please don't lock my post!), partly because of how our government is set up but also factors that could be fixed - like how we always have elections on Tuesdays and they aren't holidays.

So, this year I've voted in the March primary. It was a 3 hour wait in line with a large number of seats and ballot measures. I've looked up my ballot for the November midterm elections and there are 47 races and 0 ballot measures but that could change between now and then. If I was a registered Republican I'd also have to vote on 6 runoff elections this week.

Does this sound unreasonable? Or is it comparable to your experience?

Edited to fix a misspelling

What if a 70's style oil shock coincides with a .com style AI crash?

I'm hearing economic commentators say we might be heading to an oil crisis similar to the 1970's while I'm watching the out of control speculation around AI. What if the worst case scenario of an AI crash happens at the same time as an energy crisis?

Some shrooms eating the stump of an Arizona Ash tree in Austin, TX. Was it in a symbiotic relationship before the tree died? If so, it's gotta be tough eating your former roommate.
