Manaphy

Love the part of its animation where it looks back at you before you get to select a move, pretty cute for me

That's it, saw the Manaphy post recently and wanted to post something nice about it too

Postgame E4 themed teams: spooky season

Inaccurate dates, done on a backup file before to not delete my 1st HoF. Game only stores 15

Nature Preserve Haxorus and Cloyster aren't ghost or dark types, but they looked good enough for the theme

Tower doubles: 700 wins

Team: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonHGSS/s/jyJ1sarVuZ replace thunder wave with helping hand on Latias

Faced Machamp and Blaziken lead. Aerodactyl's aerial ace + Weavile's fake out takes care of Blaziken and Machamp's cross chop nails Weavile, I sent Metagross to replace Weavile and opponent sends Heracross

Aerial ace is an easy ko on Heracross, and meteor mash almost 2hkos Machamp. Thunder punch put Aerodactyl at focus sash HP, and opponent sends Poliwrath

Aerodactyl protects to save itself from another thunder punch or a water move from Poliwrath in case this Poliwrath doesn't have damp for Metagross' explosion. It had water absorb and explosion wins the battle

Tower doubles: 602 wins

Team: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonHGSS/s/jyJ1sarVuZ replace thunder wave with helping hand on Latias

Battle 602: faced with Meganium and Torterra leads. Aerodactyl sets tailwind, Weavile gets a clean ko on Torterra, Meganium sets light screen, and opponent sends Blaziken out

Aerodactyl's aerial ace + Weavile's ice punch takes Meganium down, but Blaziken's focus blast lands on Weavile. They sent Feraligatr, I sent Metagross

Aerial ace almost took Blaziken down, but Metagross' earthquake finishes it while also damaging Feraligatr. Waterfall puts Aerodactyl to focus sash HP, but rock slide + earthquake knocks it out

At this point my "new team every next hundredth battle" is abandoned and I'll just see how far the team can go

Tower doubles: 504 wins

Same team as the previous one, except Latias now has helping hand instead of thunder wave: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonHGSS/s/jyJ1sarVuZ

Battle 504: Weavile disrupts Luxray, Aerodactyl sets tailwind, Shuckle uses double team. Aerodactyl aerial ace + Weavile ice punch hits Shuckle, Luxray puts Aerodactyl to focus sash HP from thunder fang, and Shuckle uses double team again

Aerodactyl aerial ace + Weavile ice punch takes Shuckle into ko range, and Luxray knocks Aerodactyl down with a critical hit ice fang. Sent Metagross out, Shuckle sets sand

Weavile's ice punch finally takes down Shuckle, Metagross earthquake only puts a sandstorm chipped Luxray to red HP while also damaging Weavile, and Luxray paralyzes Metagross with thunder wave

Opponent sends out Garchomp but Weavile dispatches it with ice punch, and Luxray thunder fang kos Weavile. Metagross wasn't able to move thanks to the paralysis, and Luxray fainted from sandstorm chip

Opponent sends out Magnezone, I send Latias. Helping hand boosted Metagross earthquake kos Magnezone after taking a thunderbolt

(Sort of) tailwind team for battles 302-406

Aerodactyl sets tailwind while banking for rock slide flinches if there are no priority users. Weavile disrupts a threat like Jolteon who speed ties with Aerodactyl and save it from being double targeted, or immediately ko something. Metagross being fast while still having the ability to switch moves is nice, Latias gives Metagross freedom to spam earthquake while also setting tailwind if Aerodactyl goes down and spreads paralysis

Battle 406: Salamence intimidates both of my leads while Tyranitar sets sand. Weavile immediately goes for a ko on Salamence, while Aerodactyl sets tailwind and avoids a stone edge from Tyranitar

Opponent sends out Latios and the combination of Aerodactyl's aerial ace + Weavile's night slash knocks it out, but Tyranitar's stone edge lands on Weavile. Opponent sends out Flygon and I send out Metagross, Aerodactyl protects and ignores a stone edge from Flygon while meteor mash kos Tyranitar. Tailwind is set again, and ice punch finishes the dragonfly

Frontier doubles

Faced a Feraligatr and Walrein lead on the 203rd battle. Heatran protects so Cresselia can chip + drop their speed with icy wind, and a helping hand boosted explosion took down both of them while Cresselia survives

Salamence replaces Heatran to intimidate Machamp and Breloom. Another icy wind chips while Salamence KOs Breloom, Cresselia faints but Garchomp finally joins and finishes Machamp. Not a difficult battle, and overall there were little to no presence of ohko move users so I'd consider that lucky
