Kendrick Lamar’s story followed a very different path. Rising out of Compton, California, he earned widespread acclaim for dense, introspective albums and became one of the most respected lyricists of his era. his career has lost momentum, though, the later chapters have felt less like a continued ascent and more like the beginning of a decline. the excitement surrounding his releases has become harder to sustain, that the gaps between albums have made it difficult to maintain the same cultural grip, and that the aura of untouchability he once had has started to fade. Whether that view proves accurate over time remains to be seen, but it stands in sharp
contrast to Drake’s reputation for remaining a constant commercial force year after year.

I used to consider the beef tied when Ice Man dropped, but now I understand that Drake won. He addressed all the lies Kendrick told, which made his past tracks basically disappear, and now he’s doing victory laps with the insane numbers he’s going.

How much influence do you think Drake has gotten from just feeling inspired growing up in one of the coolest cities in the world? I can picture bro starting up at the insane skyline and staring at CN tower and just going inside and writing a crazy hit. I feel like that why he made it the Views album cover.

Now that Drake is number 1 like he usually is, and Kendrick’s listening numbers are factually and genuinely falling on Spotify and others, could you see a scenario where Drake gives kendrick an opportunity to apologize and put him back onto the map again like he did when he gave kendrick a career with his take care feature and poetic justice?
