Want to take proper care of my beard and don't know where to start.

18yo

I have extremely curly hair and that has made my beard much harder to properly maintain, and I'm not sure what to do about keeping it detangled, keeping it looking clean without having hairs go out everywhere, etc.

Anyone else get judged just for having a beard?

I’m from the Netherlands and I’m of Turkish descent.
I’ve been growing my beard because I like it, but I’ve noticed people treat me differently because of it.

A colleague I’ve known for 7 years recently asked me why I suddenly decided to grow a beard. Even my own family makes ISIS jokes or says I look like an extremist, which honestly sucks.

I keep my beard clean and well-groomed, but it feels like some people automatically judge you if you’re Middle Eastern and have a beard.
Has anyone else experienced this? Do you just ignore it, or did you change your beard because of the comments?

Beard coming in much thicker after Stem Cell Transplant?

I have been dealing with Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood cancer. As part of my adventure I got a Stem Cell Transplant - which starts with a powerful dose of Melphalan - which totally wiped out my immune system. After this I was given back my harvested stem cells to rebuild my immune system.

Well, the chemo caused me to lose all of my body hair, including my beard. The hair on my head is coming in curly (it was wavy before, now it's almost kinky) and my beard is way thicker!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this after chemo? Especially after Melphalan? Anyway, having a thicker beard is nice...

How does it look? I’m about a month and a half in? I’m at the point where I either want to keep going or cut it down to stubble and go stache only. The side fade seems a little botched.

10 weeks. Keep going?

I’m 27. I kinda like it but Im also frustrated it doesn’t connect. Still any hope? Should I keep going? Be real and objective. No coddling, no irrational pessimism either.

Product recommendations for a very dense, coarse, curly/wavy long beard?

My beard is extremely dense and full, with thick/coarse strands and a curly to wavy texture. It tends to get very dry, frizzy, and poofy, particularly in the lower half. The ends become wispy and uneven.

I haven’t trimmed anything in about 6 months but my beard seems to plateau around this length. Current routine is basically just shampoo once a week and daily picking/combing, no conditioner, leave in, oil, or balm.

I dislike a greasy/oily feel, but I’m willing to use whatever actually works best. I want a healthier beard, less breakage, better length retention, much less frizz/poof and ideally a darker/slightly wet looking controlled finish.

What beard routine and product would you recommend?
