Smoking is bad. Bearding is not.

The beard was getting longer and longer, but eventually the ends became whispy. Was contemplating on how to handle it. Been doubting for a while. Seriously annoyed by the thin ends and lack of density.

Then DanC came around. He always mentions to trim straight across the bottom of the beard, so I took a leap of faith and decided to do it.

Still undecided about the neckline at the moment, but I’m happy overall.

I’ve been posting some time over here. I like the content, the banter between bearded guys and their admirers. I also try to be active in sharing my knowledge (for what it is worth). Today I decided to take a screenshot from my phone library, just one selfie each month, to capture the progress over a year when growing out a beard. Hope you all enjoy.

Mind you, this isn’t the journey to a yeard. I’ve been bearded for close to 20 years, just decided somewhere last year to grow it out.

I’m not sure on this one to be honest. I have a fairly long beard, it is dense too. But lately I’ve been seeing some whispy bits on the bottom.

Trim you’d say. I concur on that. Though the whispy bits aren’t really on the front of the beard. It is more that the hair underneath my chin has outgrown the front, which makes me hesitant on how to approach this.

Can someone, a barber or a fellow longer beardsman give me direction? If in doubt I might just visit a barber, but would be nice if I could tackle this myself.

I’m wondering…

Featuring a minor trim on the moustache, so I can have my cake… And eat it too.

I just realised that I’ve been shaving my head for about a year now. I had some sort of widows peak and a thinning crown. One day I decided to just buzz it al. I hate to shave (hence the beard ;)), but to be fair I always am happy that I take the time to do it.

I decided to grow my beard out since… Probably a little longer than a year ago. I honestly don’t keep count. Do all the maintenance myself and hasn’t had a trim in ages, except for the moustache and sometimes the sideburns when they get too wild.

I’d thought I’d share a picture from June last year and a recent one. What is your preference? I like either length, though the first is way more practical.

Been a while since I decided to shave of my head hair. But I don’t miss it one bit.
