This is really more a rant than anything but I just need to say how unfair this bs app is to everyone involved. Sorry for the length and format, on mobile.
I use the app consistently, getting food delivered to work and i dont have a license so sometimes I’ll even order twice a day. The one thing I’ll say is I’ve only had a couple bad drivers in the few years I’ve had the app. bless all of you, you are not the problem. So anyway, yesterday i order food for lunch at work. Time says 25 minutes, my lunch break is in 35 minutes cool i have time. Not only does it take an hour and a half to get delivered, they gave this poor guy not 1 or 2 but FIVE other stops. 2.5 miles away btw. So now my food is cold and i dont have time to eat anyway and still have 3 hours at work. I gave the food to my coworker since she was going home and I’m weird about reheating food. i powered through the rest of my shift. Get home, dont feel like cooking, decide to order a burrito. There’s a $17 bogo deal. Except every option costs money so you either have a plain tortilla or pay $30 for a $17 burrito. By this point I’m getting hangry. I ordered 1 chicken burrito with no beans bc I’m allergic. This guy sits there for 15 minutes waiting (bless him i added a bigger tip obviously). Then i get not 1 wrong burrito, but 2 burritos that are not even slightly what i ordered. 1 was shrimp and beans the other was beef and beans. How do you not look at the order and say “hmmm this person only ordered one burrito, why is there 2?” How does that even happen? So now i got 2 wrong burritos and someone else got a wrong order too that was less food than they ordered. The quality of food these restaurants send out because there’s no consequence to them is ridiculous. they give you the wrong order, cold, an hour late and could care less because they’ll never have to answer for it. I’ll use instacart to get some groceries and I’ll never use uber eats again. End rant.
