Is Your Phone too Short for the Charging Pad?

So, I recently got a Fold 8 and apparently many people have similar issues to me in which the phone is too short for the wireless charging pad.

Turning it upside doesn't always work depending on the phone case.

Some people would 3d print a spacer and some would even buy spacers from Etsy.

Galaxy Flip users are also complaining about the same thing.

So, behold, i have a cheap solution for you!

A Staedler eraser. Just a good height for Fold 8. For Flip maybe add another eraser to stack it.

It's rubbery, it doesn't move around, it has enough thickness and it works all the time!

What cables should I buy?

For context, i have the Tesla wall charger at home and I have the portable charger.

However, i stumbled upon some situation in which some chargers need BYO cable.

Which ones should I buy?

Is the basic CCS2 cable enough with maybe a Chademo adaptor so I can use the Chademo bay?

Apollo Virtual Display Causes Input Lag

Hi all,

This one is really confusing as I cannot find anyone else having the same issue.

Host is a 4080 PC connected to a 4K monitor hosting Apollo.

Client is an AMD laptop with a 1200p display running Moonlight.

If I run:

- Desktop (default settings) it will try to stream the entire 4K monitor into a 1200p feed onto my laptop. Everything looks small due to the DPI, but NO INPUT LAG.

- Playnite (added as an app with "Always create virtual display") it will stream Playnite as 1200p, all the windows taskbar look good for my laptop, but WITH INPUT LAG

- Desktop (with "Always create virtual display"), the desktop will resize to 1200p, all DPI and icon sizes look good, but WITH INPUT LAG

- Hogwarts Legacy (added as an app with "Always create virtual display") as expected, all resolution works fine but WITH INPUT LAG

EDIT: I have also enabled "Double refresh rate for Virtual Display"

So, it seems that the culprit here is everytime it uses Virtual Display it will show noticeable input lag.

Does anyone know of a solution or should I just buy myself an HDMI dummy plug into my desktop PC?

Phone case with no front piece

For those who bought the original phone cases for Fold 7, none of them come with front piece which means the cover screen's edges are exposed.

How are you fold7 these days? Are showing damage on the edge of the front screen? Or are they protected from aide drop because the back cover is thick enough on the side?

Green on green

Thanks to you guys who gave positive feedbacka about the Panaracer Gravelking X1...

I stumbled upon some British Green X1 45mm at about AUD60 each... What a bargain!

So I got them installed on a new Hunt 35 gravel wheelset and then also got the bar tape replaced!

Bike is a Topstone 3 Carbon GRX 1x 2026.

Panaracer Gravelking SK vs X1

Has anyone tried both and can compare?

I've used SK in the past it was not that fast compared to Pirelli Cinturato M but has much less grip on mud or wet grass...

Dry sand grip are okay for the both them although the Gravelking SK does like to fling loose gravels more than Cinturato M.

I've never had Gravelking X1 so I'm wondering if anyone has had experience using X1 and can compare with SK or maybe Cinturato M.

I'm currently using WTB Riddler 45c stock tyres and I don't really like it as it feels draggy...

A junior auditor once asked me to provide sample of the files that were sent between 2 systems. The 2 systems were communicating using REST API. I had to explain to them that there are no files. Then the auditor asked me if the communications files are stored on a folder that is accessible by users so I had to explain how REST API works.

A junior auditor asked me data from ServiceNow, I gave them an excel extract of all the relevant fields from ServiceNow. The auditor couldn't read excel properly and asked me to generate PDF files one by one per incidents.

An auditing company was tasked to ensure we have DR documents for some legacy technology. They sent their consultants to work with me through multiple meetings over the course of few weeks to create the DR document. Three months later i left that company. Two months after i left the company, ex-boss called me asking how to do DR apparently one of the data centre died. I told them to find the document the auditors created and apparently no one knows how to read them.

Okay end of rant.

Thanks for reading.
