CP_a185 - Charging station payment error (but charges fine)

[USA][2024 Model 3 LR AWD][~20k miles]

For the past few months I have received "CP_a185 - Charging station payment error" whenever I use a Supercharger. I have tried adding a new credit card/removing the old one, and rebooting the car. The car charges just fine, and I am billed without issues. I submitted a service request and they want me to approve a $240 charge for "low voltage distribution and controllers" even though the vehicle is in warranty and it doesn't appear to be a hardware issue since it charges fine. I called Tesla and asked them to look at my account since this is either an account issue or software issue, and they said they see other reports of this issue, and they are recommending to go to a service center to have them clear the error. They claim the fix is not something I can do myself. Has anyone else had this issue or found a self-fix? I am hesitant to take my car to the service center since it's easier to ignore the error than risk Tesla messing something else up with my car.
