Lawn seed bunnings

Lawn seed bunnings

Just after a generic lawn seed from Bunnings to throw down on this once I've finished prepping it. Any recommendations? Not expecting a perfect lawn, just something that will tie into the existing lawn and be nice and thick.

VGSA food for thought

I see alot of people who voted yes saying teachers are being greedy for voting no to the recent offer. I just found out that in the Victorian Public Services agreement 2024 it included a $5600 cost of living allowance payable to over 50 000 employees covered by the agreement.

This is just an example of things that other public service workers have negotiated into their agreements. If a backdated agreement is not possible like the AEU says then they need to add a sign on bonus or a cost of living allowance to address this year's lost income.

Vic teachers EBA

Herald Scum is reporting that "the state government is set to put a new pay and conditions offer to teachers union in a desperate bid to stop next week's Victoria wide strike"

I wonder if there is any substance to this. Hopefully something worth considering is on the table by tomorrow COB.

Ordinary Time Earnings

I'm in The process of submitting for a private ruling with the ATO on this but thought id see if anyone had any advice.

I'm a firey in VIC for context.

When I work my normal rostered shift at a different location I get paid the following allowances.

  1. $X amount per kilometre travelled.

  2. 2.5 minutes pay/ KM. (Eg 10kms = 25 minutes at single time)

As far as Ordinary Time Earnings are concerned, I don't think the first allowance is included because it's a re-inbursement for fuel? The second allowance seems like a grey area and I think it can potentially be included in my ordinary time earnings, because it's an allowance paid for me to carry out my normal duties.

Id love anyones opinion who might know more about this. It's not clear on the ATO website.

Further info: my employer has been underpaying my super for years, I've just worked this out so I'm going through everything with a fine tooth comb and wondering if I can get this travel allowance Included in my OTE

Thanks if you got this far

Fair work arbitration, Fire Rescue Vic vs United Firefighters Union.

Anyone have any info around the fair work arbitration between FRV and UFU. Wondering when fairwork will hand down their decision after submissions closed late last year.

% break down for top range teacher

5/6. 2.99%

10/6. 9.75%

11/27. 3.99%

11/28. 4%

11/29. 4.9%

Total 25.63% when pay rises are expressed as compounding amounts.

Comparing starting pay to finishing pay ($118,063 to $151,419) = 28.25%

AEU use the over all percentage increase to make the total percentage look bigger and more attractive.

Basically all substantial pay rises pushed to the end of year which does nothing to accomodate this years high inflation.

Also last pay rise in the proposed eba is at the end of 2029, based on that you can assume your next pay rise after that would be the end of 2030 (assuming your next EBA is signed)

This means under this EBA you would receive 25.63% of pay rises over 5 years!

I'm not the smartest person getting around but my wife's a teacher so I've been reading through the proposed EBA tonight. Are my above comments correct? When you look into it these pay increases are nothing like the 35% on 3 you were asking for.

Would you fill out an edusafe if a students parent yelled and swore at you multiple times on the phone during a discussion about the students behaviour. I am trying to convince my wife that this is not part of her job and that she should complete an edusafe.
