Federal petition for mandatory climate footprint labelling program

e-7510 is an e-petition calling for the Canadian government to create a mandatory climate footprint labelling program. Products would have labels showing GHG emissions so that consumers can easily compare. It may help people choose animal products less often.

If it reaches 500 signatures, it's presented in the House of Commons (this does not mean they will take more action).

Please take a moment out of your day to sign and share. There is no age requirement. Thanks!

The Dying Trade: A new documentary by Humane Hancock.

Hello, I recently watched Humane Hancock's new documentary. If you don't know what this is about, he is an animal rights activist whose father works as a slaughterhouse worker. This documentary is less about exposing what goes on in the industries, and more about emotional/mental and social conflicts. He also interviews Alex Hershaft, Temple Grandin, Gail Eisnitz, and an anonymous slaughterhouse worker.

I've been waiting for this documentary for a few years, and saying I "enjoyed it" is weird because it's not, you know, an enjoyable topic. It was well-made and I learnt some things from it. I also related to it. I recommend it if this sounds like something you're interested in. There is not much graphic footage except when he goes into a chicken farm (14:30-16:25) and when he shows pigs being killed in gas chambers at (~39:00-40:00).
