This post was just removed by mods in the switch2 subreddit so I figured I’d come here😂

This exact post (after this paragraph) was taken down in the switch2 subreddit for not having “limited-scope questions”…. Yeaaaah oooookay. Sometimes I think that the positivity surrounding the switch 2 is more blind and toxic than the criticism.

Am I crazy, or is it really bizarre and kinda dumb to be advertising a console by showing 3 games that

  1. are not out
  2. don’t even have release dates in the case of Orbitals and Elden Ring
  3. have already been available for multiple years on other systems in the case of Elden Ring and FF7 Rebirth

The games themselves aren’t really the issue, it’s just the lack of calendaring that makes it especially weird to me. It’s also weird that I’m getting ads like this on YouTube but nothing for Star Fox which probably releases before at least 2 of these games.

Is this ad common or has no one else seen this on youtube with these 3 games in particular?

In case anyone just wants to label me as a hater, I‘ll just say that I do own the switch 2 and have enjoyed my time with DK Bananza, Metroid Prime 4, SF6, and Resident Evil 7 and 8 (ended up playing Requiem on Steam for a smoother experience) in the time since the system released. Many of the other games for the platform just haven’t really been my thing (Mario Kart World, Air Riders, Z-A, Pokopia, Tomodachi Life, Yoshi, etc). So, I do really like the system but the way Nintendo has handled 2026 is just so bizarre to me.

Is this normal???? (An observation and question related to Switch 2 marketing and Nintendo’s 2026)

Hopes for Metroid 6’s graphics/visuals?

I’m not really expecting Metroid 6 for a while, but when I played Metroid Prime 4, these two shots made me think of how great the next 2D Metroid could look with devs from Retro helping out. Anyone else think about that when they saw these in-game?

I loved the art style of the game and design of Samus in Metroid Dread, but graphically, a whole 2D Metroid game looking like this would be a dream.

Not saying that devs besides Retro couldn’t pull off something similar, but Prime 4 (in my opinion) still seems like the most graphically impressive Nintendo game to date, despite not being a Switch 2 exclusive.
