Real skin vs fake skin… so different

So i got nerve to sit down and put something on my leg finally. Invaluable experience to be honest. I will say Trueskin makes my machine sound the same at proper depth. But thats about it.

I also feel like tattooing yourself is tattooing on hard mode. I am trying to pay attention to my technique while trying not to pay attention to the pain, that was challenging for me.

My fake skin work was looking decent. Figured screw it time for me to feel real skin. In my head im thinking that if the habits im building on fake skin are not correct then i need to know. Only way to know is put needle to skin. I just did the outline because i want to see line issues as it heals. Once its healed i will go back and pack it black. Im not sharing a picture until its done.

Day 9 - Shading Practice

I need honest opinions on this one. First time trying shading, my highlight on the upper body doesnt match the highlight on the abdomen. A couple of the leg shadows do not make sense either to my eye after the fact. Other than the technical design mistake give me criticisms on the shading please. I also see the line meetup issue on the back leg.

What i found the most difficult is blending the different tones together. Lines were done with a 1205RL shading was done with a 1203 RL.

Build plays differently after logging off and getting on the next day

So i did an overhaul of my martial artist build. Changed alot due to equipment changes. Ran a few maps the night of doing these changes and up rage quitting because nothing was working like i wanted it to.

The next day logged on and it was a completely different story, is there some weird bug that causes issues like this?

Cardiologist ego?

Why does every cardiologist, electrophysiologist ive seen not believe me when i tell them that i can feel every pvc ive ever had? Ive had 2 episodes of afib many years ago. I knew the exact moment i flipped into afib. When in the hospital when they were trying to chemically cardiovert me i knew the second i when from dead nuts afib to atrial flutter.

Ive had one specialist believe me after i called out pvc’s during an ecg. She told me that its rare to find someone that is “heart aware” hell i can count my normal beats.

Its very frustrating and my new electrophysiologist has me on a 30 day holter because he doesnt believe me.

Day 6 - Reaper practice and needle issues…

So Day 6 of practice. So i started this with a brand new mast 1205RL. From the start it just didn’t feel right. And the lines were rough and way too much damage that was happening. I looked at it several times and failed to see the issue until i was half done with the lining.

Turns out one of the needles was bent into a fish hook. Brand new out of the package. Now ive learned to closely inspect the cartridges after opening. I switched to a Cream Gold 1205RL to finish the lining. Used a 1207RM for my first time for the packing. Going to have to have some more practice with that thing. Im not happy with the saturation of the solid black areas but felt the fake skin was getting overworked. The finer areas i finished with a 1005RS.

Full disclosure i screwed up the tip of the scythe and figured it would look good with a small bit of shading and hide the screw up.

Opinions and criticism is wanted.

Day 5 - Wife picked this one out

This was done with a Cream brandy 1209RL and the black packing was done with a Mast 1207RS. Critique, criticism is wanted and welcomed.

Day 4

Exploring grips and what is most comfortable and steady for me. Still working on arches as well. Butterfly was a 1209RL the other was a 1003RL. Figured out my hand speed was too fast for my voltage on the butterfly had to bump up to 7.5 volts still thought it was a bit too slow. I am steadily improving at least. Also horizontal movements are still shaky. Criticism is welcome.

Lots of firsts today

Obviously there are some huge mistakes here. But first time even holding a tattoo machine, first time for all of it. Did a whole lot of everything i could before picking it up and laying ink for the past couple weeks. Bought a mast fold 2 pro.

The one thing i found the hardest was figuring out a position where i can support my main hand and keep consistent speed, depth, and stretch.
