I am experiencing a weird problem since I am at home. I have to wake up 1-2 times at night to pee (I am talking about large amounts not a few drops)

I never had this kind of problem. Falling asleep easily and sleeping through the night was in fact the only thing I had left in my life that was considered "normal". Not anymore it seems...

I dont have to take diuretics and they did X-Ray on me in the hospital 5 Times within 10 days to make sure I dont have a "fluid problem".

I really dont know what could be the problem, i even force myself to go pee before sleeping twice within an hour before bed time...

Let me start by saying that I mentioned it to the doctors at the hospital. I want to know if someone experienced something similar.
I had AVR (quadricuspid valve) via thoratocomy. They usually puncture the groin vein in the process for the bypass.
My thigh is still a mess 14days after. It is kinda hard/numb/swollen and redish (like a hematoma).
Did anyone experience something similar?

When can I start doing it again? Sleeping on my back is literally killing me (I maybe slept 25hours while being in the hospital for 10 days
Okay, so ive read through my release medication and i got prescribed:
- lowest dose of a statin (to get ldl-cholesterol into the low risk territory i presume?) I have around 100-110 mg/dl in my blood work without medication.
- Low dose aspirin (keeps the valve happy?)
- beta-blocker to reduce my heart rate (95-105 resting)
Hoping that i can at least drop 1 of those meds in the future (i feel like i can make cholesterol work woth proper excercise and diet)
But is thia a normal amount of medication?
So, ill be going home tomorrow (if todays echo results are fine) and my Doc asked me about putting me into rehab (43M skinny after AVR via thoratocomy).
I dont know what to do. I want to be left alone and maybe go for some daily walks and have some great selfcooked meals. That is at least my idea of rehab...the whole ordeal the last 10 days was really traumatizing for me..
I told her that I will think about it (had a really rough night because of it and the heat wave all across europe).
So, it is done. AVR via Thoratocomy (Edwards Inspiris Resilia). Ive been puking for threee straight days straight but hopefully it will be better today. Typing this down is making me dizzy lol. Honestly the worst part so far is by far the puking...
Welp, waiting time is over. Going in for AVR (M43 BAV) - probably via Mini-Sternotomy. Things are different here in Germany it seems. There was no big meeting beforehand. I briefly talked to a surgeon who wont even operate on me but works at the same hospital because I was anxious and kept contacting them via Phone/E-Mail until they gave me an appointment 🫠. They will look at my CT/MRI/Echo results tomorrow and then talk with me about the final plan.
Still cant decide on valve choice. Hope they will force me going into one direction. I dont even care at this point anymore and just want it to be over and feel better.
Apparently they do a modern approach here now and let you "carb load" and drink before the surgery and "mobilize" you a few hours after. So lets see how this will work out for me. 😶🌫️
My biggest headache now is packing my stuff. I assume I wont be in the mood for using my laptop. So ill probably just stick to my cellphone + holder + wireless in-ears. Gonna load up on my favorite Vasa snack assuming the hospital food will be bad.
Didn't prepare anything at home. My mom will be with me for the first days though potentially helping me out if something comes up.
So, yeah, hopefully i'll be still here in a few days, considering that I already booked my vacation for july. 🤣

I am sitting in my hospital bed now. I met 4 surgeons in total and the anesthesiologist. We are going for the Inspiris Resilia Bio-Valve. Hopefully the research data in the next years will still be going strong with no signs of degradation. Tomorrow morning they will put me under. Cya on the other side!
Ich möchte in meinen Kontoauszügen unkenntlich machen, in welchem Lidl ich einkaufen gehe (nur die Adresse/Ort), da man dadurch Rückschlüsse auf den Wohnort meiner Freundin ziehen kann (Wir leben noch getrennt, aber wenn ich sie besuche, kann es schon mal sein, dass ich einkaufen fahre und auch bezahle).

I am 43, diagnosed with BAV, and they will do the replacement in two weeks.
I am thinking about playing it "risky" and going the "modern technology/science" route...which means bovine pericardial tissue that was heavily modified and does not need to be stored in aldehyde solution (I am quoting Edwards Technology here) which is the main culprit for higher calcification rates.
The risky part is, that I am hoping that TAVI (valve in valve replacement) will be finally approved for younger people in the near future...so I can get 20+20 years out of it with no big impact in my daily life and sleep.
What I am really unsure about is that Edwards is overselling/overestimating their product. Real data only exists for about 5 years (well, it is a new technology) and the simulation data that showed 50 years of mechanical resilience was in a sterile environment without biological agents (I assume this is the main problem for valves).
So, yeah, long story short...what is your take on all of this? Did anyone go this route and risked it with a 'RESILIA' valve?
